I know that true crime content is exceptionally popular, but I don't really take in any of it, generally. I did enjoy the true crime documentary Catch Me If You Can feat. Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio.
i think the far bigger impact is peoples obsession with crime itself that we know sparks reactionary thinking and is continually beat into their heads through addicting content like this because they're effectively "puzzles"
Yeah, being trapped in an 8x8 shit box with someone that talks like this is worse than anything Nicholson's character had to deal with.
these type of nature vloggers and their sprinter vans are all pretty annoying. Especially those in their early 20s who are just driving around and doing the most basic hikes at Arches National Park. I've done every hike in those photos. They are the top ones on All Trails. They have been detailed in hundreds of blog posts and youtube videos. Nothing about their trip or journey was unique. So it is hard not be annoyed by these people with the privilege of money to buy one of these vans and live in it for months with their brand new hiking and camping gear.
Unless Keith Morrison is giving sweet poetic metaphors while narrating true crime, then it doesn’t interest me too much. This story is a good one to follow though .
“You have to understand that unlike all of these other amateur tourists, we’re both super hot and unbelievably experienced hikers!”
the hikes shown in that instagram: 3.2 miles RT .7 miles RT https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/delicate-arch-trail?ref=result-card https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/mesa-arch
I actually used it a week or so ago but I didn’t want to step on my friend, I said then that I can’t even remember what it really references, just that we all had a good laugh at said posters inability to spell interestingly there seemed to be a lot more grammar nazis back in the day
Now I feel bad. Makes total sense why they needed to relax and spend two hours drawing and taking pictures after such grueling work.
I would bet $100 that she’s the type of person who would pronounce the name of the country as MEH-he-co when telling people about her trip to Tulum.
This is going to end up being a plan to get famous and promote their social media accounts without committing any false reporting crimes.
This was posted on her account on Aug 25th. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTA__ISJZYY/?utm_medium=copy_link
I am not ascribing guilt to him best on that incident report. But I don't think that makes the point you think it does. I said this doesn't seem like a play to increase their clout. Does that report seem like something premeditated when they didn't even call it in to the police, a stranger did?
First off, the clout thing is very unlikely. But, whether or not they had a dispute wouldn't really be probative either way if that were what they did.
Let's start with the obvious here and the forensic evidence that a dead body is going to leave in that van. Then the inconvenient detail about any car under 10 years old now having a GPS in it.
if my two choices are something nefarious happened OR this is a stunt, police being called on them for a physical altercation days before definitely leans in one direction. No one said it was determinative.
We’re all speculating here based on very little. I think one of two things is most likely: he either outright killed her out in the wilderness somewhere and fled, or he abandoned her out there somewhere to die because he’s a dick and then realized he might be in deep shit when she never resurfaced.
