I’ll live blog without spoilers: 1st short: enjoyed it, but thought it started stronger than it ended, which I thought didn’t fit the rest of the short. Two stars out of four
2nd short: setup is a little weird with all of the cameras in a funeral home, but it works surprisingly well with the way they use lighting to tell the story. It’s a little slow to start but I loved it. 3.5 out of 4
3rd short: I feel like people will either love it or hate it, to me it feels out of place. It’s not horror, it’s really off the wall, and is interesting, but I feel like it’s going to be polarizing. For me it was a miss. 1.5 out of 4
4th short: so it’s not super scary at all, but it is awesome. The set up here is great, and the payoff is excellent, The social commentary alone is a 10. 3.5 out of 4
If I had to rank the shorts I think I’d go 4, 2,1, and then 3. Really enjoyed it, but the wraparound story is totally a throwaway.
Rewatched the 2018 Halloween yesterday in preparation for Halloween Kills this weekend. That music always gets to me. I love that franchise and Michael Myers so much. Even the shitty Rob Zombie ones, don't even care. Just give me all the Michael Myers.
More serial killer thriller than horror, but bc of the scary mask and it looks fucking great, I’ll allow it.
anyone know the name of those recent movies where a group of friends travel around documenting their experiences at various haunted house attractions, watched them last year and I'm in the mood
good watch, gave me exactly what I was looking for, I see there are a couple sequels think I'm gonna give The Wailing a go tomorrow
Watched a flick I haven’t seen since it was sitting on the shelves at my local video rental: Hello Mary Lou Prom Night 2 The first is a straight up slasher flick, this one aligns way closer to Nightmare on Elm St. which is an odd choice. Tonight is another movie I haven’t seen in forever, written by Dario Argentine, Demons.
So started Channel Zero. Just finished season 1. pleasantly surprised. Not great, but season one was pretty good
Honestly seeing how many people liked the previous one made me think that maybe I’m just insane. It was one of the dumbest fucking things I had seen all year.
It's crazy that the first thing I ever remember seeing him in was The New Adventures of Old Christine. When looking at his IMDB, seems like that show was his first big break.
I'd be interested in what you think of S2-4 if you watch them. I thought 2 was super creepy, 3 got a bit lost in what it was trying to do, and then 4 was completely fucked up in the best way possible.
Finished 2. It was ok… liked season 1 better. Liked the premise, but think it fell flat some. Starting 3 this week. Everyone says 4 is the best and 3 is the worst so looking forward to getting to 4
