I am going to be so annoying but this show is just so good. It gets dismissed because it got so popular but it’s number one for me and I don’t see that changing
when carmela tells tony that he also does it so why are you being an asshole, he respond « what goes on in this bedroom needs to stay here » carmela- oh please, once a year? I can repulse the urge to gossip
Speaking of embarrassing bedroom stuff, I remember Paulie's Neopolitan prostitute being the dictionary definition example of a Butterface. Uff Marone!
Imperioli’s pod is too long winded and he spends way too much time talking about off Broadway stories from his career but it’s almost worth it to here all the Tony Sirico stories.
I hated the character of Christopher so much that a part of me was disappointed that Michael Imperioli wrote a few episodes. Christopher Moltisanti would think he was talented enough to write for The Soprano's but would be awful and quit and go do some drugs instead.
When tony is sick he is dreaming about fucking doctor melfi The doctor- what is he smiling at? perfect
SIAP but a screenwriter on Twitter wrote a script for a sopranos episode set during covid. It's incredible.
Paulie's brown nosing in the scene is hilarious and I hadn't realized both Tony and the attorney had the same picture of Rocky Marciano in their respective offices.
So I have tried numerous times but never had the time to commit to it, but I am doing my first watch of this show. Currently on 1.9 and Tony just found out about the soccer coach.
Got caught up with work(and Squid Game with my free time), but am now back on the horse. Melfy just called Tony back. Furio seems like he’s going to be a great addition to the show. Really curious to see what he does/happens with Pus now that Sil and Paulie are above him. Can’t stand Christopher so far.
Lol at the whole Jon Favreau appearance. His assistant is cute as hell. The two meatheads that worked for Chris are awful. Awful at shooting guns too from the looks of it Shame on you Puss.
Never watched back when it first aired. Wife and I watched first two eps last night. Production value doesn’t hold up to modern standards (screeching tires and hitting sounds when they run down the guy that owed gambling money, I’m especially looking at you) but story ok so far.
doing another rewatch and Richie just ran over Beansie. Tough call who I hate more between him and Ralph. Probably Ralph?
Doing a rewatch myself and just finished the episode where Tony is banging Ralph’s girl so he’s not long for this world. Ralph is annoying and tortured but Richie is just cruel. Definitely hate Richie more. Related note though - are we supposed to think that Ralph lied to Tony when he had Vito clip Jackie Jr or was Tony ok with it? Tony just kept saying that whatever was going to happen needed to happen quickly…
We're soldiers. Soldiers don't go to hell. It's war Tony on why he's not going to hell after Chris got shot. Lol so delusional
I wouldn't say Tony ordered it but he basically just set all the responsibility on Ralph so theoretically he didn't order his best friends son's murder. There's so much that's unsaid in this scene and then later it was clear that Ralph would've lost way too much respect from the other guys if he didn't kill Jackie Jr.
Just putting this in Spoilers in case for people watching for the first time. Once you've watched the first couple episodes of Season 3, open the spoiler Spoiler For those that are watching for the first time, the actress that played Livia died between Seasons 2 and 3. The scene of him talking to his mother is actually done CGI. I never really noticed it until this time just now when I paid close attention to it
Spoiler: Spoiler Fun fact, her passing away changed the entire trajectory of season 3, and possibly the show. Chase had planned to have season 3 revolve around Tony trying to convince his mom to not testify against him. Once she passed away Chase had to rewrite the entire season 3 arc. Its interesting to think of what that season would have looked like.
I didn’t catch it the first 2-3 times I watched the show. When I did catch it, I noticed that she was reusing lines from earlier seasons. Now every time I watch I think “how tf did I not notice this before?”
Janice being a bitch about the records and taking the prosthetic. Nice to see Tony found the source of panic attacks. And now AJ is dealing with them too
I think the idea is that Janice and Tony have very similar personality traits but we suck because we like Tony
Janice just strikes me as a welfare queen/always looking for something she didn’t earn. I dunno. They’re definitely similar, Janice’s negatives just seem so much more annoying.
