I did the same since it is hard to follow otherwise. You don't get the stats but you get the live streams from both teams.
IMO, no way is this show not a huge success for the club and even FX. Hard for me to imagine it is not doing well, and it feels the type of show that also has a slow burn of referral viewership like Lasso. Just having all the celebs at the FA Trophy match shows that they are bringing in some good buzz. Will Ferrell was pretty funny. I do find it interesting watching the dichotomy of Rob and Ryan, with Rob being the obvious real sports fan and Ryan being extremely casual. The flipside is it seems like Ryan was the much better athlete growing up but just never took to being a fan.
Really? We gave it about 7 minutes then skipped though the rest. I felt like having a smoking hot psychologist explain why men like to be friends with each other was a complete waste
Absolutely. The 2nd half of the episode was phenomenal IMO. Made me text my brother that he needed to start watching
I mean I thought that they needed to have some sort of 'expert' on male relations was unnecessary but it was just a precursor to show some clips of bonding between generations and friends and it was really well done. They just served as a teeing off point to show how important sports are to all of us that post here and it got me in my feels. I had been in a pretty dark place and went on a trip with my friends from college to the ND/BYU game and have come out of it feeling so much happier and feeling so much love from my friends that I had missed so I think it just resonated harder but the end of that ep really emotionally impacted me.
Yes, I thought it was really good. Only gripe that I could make is the timing of the episode. May have been better around the 10-12 mark.
I lost it when Mac decided to hug Ryan instead of Sweet Dee when they scored the offside goal in the cup final.
Both hilarious, but also something that I have always questioned is not more prevalent. It seems like it is a huge advantage to have a player who can do that on a regular basis. Creates a corner chance or better from a throw in. It's funny also because it's obvious but the sentiment is that it feels like it cheapens the game.
I’m in agreement that it’s a weirdly underused ability, it’s like it’s looked down on because you didn’t do it with your feet so there is no beauty in it. We had a guy that could put it there from like midfield on our HS team, absolute weapon.
Yes honestly that's where I first started seeing it a lot. My daughters HS team played a team that literally subbed in a throw in specialist every time they had a throw in and she was a huge weapon. Of course in HS with unlimited subs when you have possession it makes it a lot easier to do that kind of thing, but I feel every outside player should train for it.
Rob talking about how much sports meant to him and getting choked up talking about playing ball with his dad wrecked me
Same with the shitty keeper that lost them the pro playoffs last year. Long throw to the 6 right in front of him and he just stood there.
Shaun’s point is he’s not very good. Yes, he could’ve gotten there, but he’s a depth keeper in the 5th division for a reason.
I understood his point. Thanks. Doesn’t change the fact that the ball landed like 2 feet from where he started and just stood there.
Would you say bad decision making and awareness would lead to someone being a backup in the 5th tier, the lowest full time pro level?
Did the ball land in the 6 yard box? Should the keeper have made that play? The answer is yes to both and my original point wasn’t incorrect or off. Personally, I don’t care that it’s a lower level player, he could have made the play which was my point. But congrats on being feisty this morning.
Maybe it’s morning brain but this felt like a feisty/uppity response for an insignificant post from me
I like to think all of my posts come off as uppity I was just trying to say that my expectations from these GKs is lower but if this were say Championship or League One that I’d be laying into that GK for not claiming it
