im on trauma call tonight so i missed most of the game. i caught bits on patient's TVs. gonna enjoy this one postcall tmrw
Kirk Herbstreit and Flower talking about UT players from the late 90's and don't call out Billy Ratliff smdh
We were down 10 in the first quarter and Pitt was driving and Flowers had a pick in the endzone. Ain't been fucking around since.
Fant came in as a RB. Then moved to LB. Then a TE. Really happy for him and how he stuck through 3 coaches.
Not sold we make it quite yet even if we win out. Oregon losing was a big help but can see a few scenarios where we're #5 looking in.
I think either could stay in top 4 of their only loss is a tight game to the other. Is Tennessee's best win better than either? Yes but the UGA loss could've easily been 3+ TDs and could see the committee saying OSU/UM had better showing against playoff team. I'm also not sold that a 1-loss PAC-12 champion USC doesn't jump us if they close out the season with 3 ranked wins including avenging their loss against Utah on a 2 point conversion to end it.
Stood up in the Danny deck in the north endzone yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely do it again.
We’re definitely not a lock for the playoffs even if we win out. I know everyone is taking that as a given but I’ll too traumatized to believe it until I see it. Loser of OSU/Michigan could stay ahead of us in a close game as stated above, I think if USC runs the table in convincing fashion they’ll jump us, TCU certainly looks like they can finish out undefeated, and the least likely but still not really impossible scenario is a 1 loss ACC champ (Clemson way more likely to get a late favorable jump than UNC) that dominates their championship game would slide in at 4. And all of this assumes Georgia smashes LSU in the SECCG. LSU wins that and it’s going to be chaos. No matter what this has been the best season of my entire fanhood. If you had told me pre season that we would win 9 games I would have been over the goddamn moon. The fact that the entire country just expects us to go 11-1 and most expect us to make the playoffs makes me both ecstatic and very nervous.
USC would get the bigger media push than Clemson if they both win out. I think TCU losing is the biggest thing we need. Just in general, I'm impressed with Heupel and his staff's recruiting and evaluations. Squirrel White and Dylan Sampson were 3 star guys the staff really wanted and both look like they will develop into great players for us. We hadn't had any development of players since Kiffin. I mean, I didn't expect Keyton to have to replace Tillman for most of the year and the offense just kept on rolling.
From the portal we need: 2 TEs, an OT, a pass rusher, a corner, a safety, and a linebacker. Could also do with another corner, a DT, and a top end WR or running back.
Would have taken this all day if you offered this to me in the spring. What could have been tho if SC played out differently. 11-1 and presuming HH doesn’t go down trying to make a play when behind
Yes to all. Hopefully with the offensive scheme and spyre, the offensive positions will be attractive. Have to upgrade the secondary immediately
super weak depth wise pretty much everywhere defensively. and despite a few good throws and one super long throw, Milton largely looks like the same QB, so I would expect QB battle in spring with Nico coming in and whoever else they might add. I bet they might even take a transfer at QB as I bet T Jackson transfers, and none of the other backups are worth a shit - it’s basically Milton vs Nico. interested to see what changes are made on defense - regardless of talent disparity, Willie Mart is not a good coach/krooter and I think he could be axed
I would honestly rather go through some growing pains with a young QB like Nico or Jackson than an entire year of Joe Milton.
Milton has to play well in the bowl game or the off season conversation will just be the fucking worst. I don’t see any reason why Jackson can’t win the job.
