They will now play in San Diego in 2018 Congrats to Dayneface for finally getting to see his team win in his home state
i mean florida's schedule should be miami/fsu home/away each year (so each one gets a home and one gets an away) the sec fbs filler
I hate neutral site games with the passion of 1,000 suns, hope OSU never agreed to play in one. Nothing is better then big non conference home and home games.
I'm still not exactly sure why people are hung up on that. Regardless, the tide is turning on playing 3 bad ooc opponents because of falling attendance everywhere.
Because to some people it seems like UF is scared to play good teams OOC. To others, it seems like a waste to not play interesting teams every once in a while ( I fall into the latter category ).
We played a top 5 team ooc every year for like 13 straight years or whatever, don't know many other schools that can make that claim. Would've been great to schedule a home and home against a top 15ish team instead of FSU during their dynasty. The norm in cfb is changing so we'll start seeing those 3 ooc games against shit opponents turn into better games.
we still need a game for next year, any takers (i know we will end up playing some d2 directional but still fun to think about)
How about UCF? Oh, wait. This is awkward. That game was bought out of. Spoiler As if everyone involved didn't know things would end up that way, no hard feelings. Fuck the JayHawks.
been some rumblings about Arkansas and Baylor playing in 2017 and 2018. We need to have our contract with War Memorial Stadium to not be renewed following the 2016 season before that could happen though.
the south and eastern part of the state is extremely poor. It gives those fans an easier opportunity to attend games. It also used to be a recruiting tool for some of the LR players. Now that LR doesn't produce anyone worth a shit anymore, and the fact that we lose almost $2 million in revenue each time we play there rather than in Fayetteville and its also our longest trip of the season (4 hour bus ride)... it makes zero sense. Stadium is an absolute dump too. Thankfully, Bielema also hates going there... so I'm hopeful that we don't renew that contract after it expires.
I like this game as long as we dont have our only open date of the year the following Saturday. 11 straight weeks , no thanks.
Alabama will play Louisville in Orlando to open the 2018 season. The B1G 10 also announced that starting in 2016 and going forward, every team will play a Power 5 non conference team. Notre Dame and BYU will count as P5 teams as well.
Yeah they did, but the SEC said they were a P5 school. The first few years they have had some trouble scheduling some good teams, but their future non con schedule has added some good teams. Their problem is that not too many teams want to schedule home and homes as well as getting good teams on the schedule in the later half of the season.
Strictly recruiting purposes Joe. ND had done well in FLA, last we want is yall coming down in playing games hr outside Gainesville either way, Go Navy!!!
that's what i figured, and that's exactly why we're doing it. we now have games against navy in florida and CA (although we're already playing in CA every year). but still
Old Dominion has taken a significant step in its quest to attract ACC football teams to Norfolk, adding a home a home series with the University of North Carolina. UNC will play in Norfolk on Sept. 16, 2017, with ODU to play a return game to Chapel Hill on Sept. 26, 2020, according to contracts obtained from ODU by The Virginian-Pilot under the Freedom of Information Act. Although ODU plans to build a new football stadium, it will not be ready in 2017, meaning the UNC game will be played at the 20,118-seat Foreman Field. Coming off its first Football Bowl Subdivision season, ODU now has four ACC teams scheduled to play in Norfolk over the next six seasons. ODU had previously signed home and home contracts with Virginia Tech, North Carolina State and Wake Forest.
we did prison rape them last time to the point that we were trying not to score at the end at used a running clock during an abbreviated 10 min 4th quarter http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=333270153
Same day FSU dropped 80 on Idaho. I think the ACC teams combined for the highest scoring day in conference history.
no more enjjarrassing than losing by a combined score of 125-72 the last two years to ecu so i am numb to it at this point
Agreed, Power 5 teams have nothing to gain and everything to lose playing home and home series with non-Power 5 schools. I sort of get NC State and Wake Forest doing it for recruiting, but no clue why UNC is doing it, and I really don't get why VaTech is doing it.
it coulda been so much worse. our 4th string rb was running all over them. had 80 with 3:30 left in the third quarter and then just stopped trying to score. intentionally turned it over on downs at the goal line and used a running clock/10 min fourth quarter happier times
Auburn, FSU in talks for 2018 game in Jacksonville Ron Sanders - 47 minutes ago 3 Auburn Newsletter 0 0 Auburn is in negotiations with Florida State regarding a 2018 game in Jacksonville, according to a report by Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post.
