Going to the California Craft Beer Association Beer Fest tomorrow. Pretty much all of the CA breweries will be in attendance.
Anyone familiar with Albuquerque breweries at all? Going to be there in two weekends. There seem to be an overwhelming number of breweries there. Which is awesome but overwhelming as I only have parts of Saturday and Sunday with a soccer match Saturday night to attend.
Been drinking a lot of Oktoberfest last few weeks. This year's Sierra Nevada is brewed with Bitburger and is very good. Also, the yuengling Oktoberfest is super enjoyable and easy drinking. Both are Marzens. Also, I will be in Chicago all week for work. Last time I went to Revolution and it was great. Where should I go this time?
Where are you staying? Revolution is a great choice. Chicago has endless choices, it’s an amazing beer city. Half Acre is my favorite up near Lincoln Park. Piece is great if you want beer and some awesome non-Chicago style pizza.
staying right behind the office at the new Homewood Suites on N Jefferson in west loop. yeah I did piece and revolution last trip (stayed in N River that time.) is half acre doable by subway?
Civil Disobedience blend 25. Anna (honey saison), Juicy (saison made with New Zealand hops aged in wine barrels), Sankt Hans (Amber Saison aged in oak puncheons) and a buckwheat based saison that eventually became Samuel, all blended together and aged in wine barrels for about a year. So good but lots of citrus up front. Wish I had more than one so I could see what it’s like in a year when the citrus mellows.
Hey geis! I’ve been pretty basic in my beer drinking & more into wine of late, so I haven’t been around much. Hope everyone is super swell! I moved a while back and was doing some unpacking / purging. Found a couple jolly pumpkin la roja reserves from their 2014 bottling, and a bruery Black Tuesday from 2013 I think? opened a la roja and it was really nice! Didn’t seem a ton different than how it originally tasted - not sure if it was bottle conditioned or not? and said fuck it and opened the Black Tuesday. Lol, god damn, what a beast of a beer. Pretty smooth for almost 20%, but still boozy as fuck. hope everyone is out there crushing it! Stay away from orange juice ipas!
