you say that like it's a bad thing. Steelix in gen 2 is extremely good. I have 4 Onix candy to my name, I need a nest so bad.
Think they found in a recent patch evidence of evolution items like metal coat so perhaps steelix won't be a candy evolve.
Caught a ton of Eggs and Jigglys this weekend. Saw two different Muks and two Magmars pop up on sightings but still haven't been able to catch one. Also saw some Chansey sightings but couldn't get near them. I am Lvl 26 and am now getting more 10k eggs. My last 5 5k eggs were crap.
Finally saw/caught my first porygon while picking up something from the store. I had pretty much given up hope because I play in a smaller city. I'm at 141/146 seen. Also popped a lucky egg and got 85k xp off pidgey, weedle, and rattata evolutions. More than half way to level 28. Hit 27 a few days ago. Really enjoyed this event, even though I didn't catch one exeggutor worth a damn. Hopefully they will have another event in March. Also, I have a few eggs ready for incubation. Don't really want any more pink pokemon like igglybuff. If I incubate after the event ends am I less likely to hatch a pink pokemon or was that dependent on getting the egg during the event?
Eggs are pre-determined. You could wait a year to hatch one of those and it'll still be whatever it was when you picked it up.

just traded in 9 of them before double candy ends. it was nice to have a little fat boy army but 18 candy is 18 candy. I'm getting very picky on them, especially as far as moveset goes because I still don't have a ZH/BS or ZH/HB guy and my main L/HB attacker is in a gym and has been gone for some time. don't really miss the attacker much since I have a good enough supply but I'd like some 87+ defenders.
I think it's a combination of high CP + the counters to the types in the gym. like if you go to a Gyardos/Vape gym if you have Jolteons it'll load those up. it's not particularly well done and I wish they'd let us just establish preset teams so gym battling is faster.
Gotcha was always curious figured it had something to do with best possible counters to the Pokémon in the gym. Also would love for them to let us establish teams to battle

People data mined things like stones, metal coat, and other items that typically force evolutions a while back. I just hope you don't need 50 in a backpack that only holds 400 things to evolve them like candy works. If I've been saving up to 100 scyther candy in case I can get scizor that way, I would hate to wait longer to collect a ton of metal coats.
My thoughts also. I love that we are getting most/all of gen 2 quickly and the expansion seems pretty big, but part of me wishes it was in a separate app like the main games were. Then again walking in 2 apps is pure stupid. Does this launch today or when this week? Is update already in our phones or is a patch incoming?
I haven't spent a dime on this game but I feel like I'm gonna have to get my box to 500 capacity (I'm at 350) and buy 3 incubators the day the new dex comes out

I've only got a couple mon upgrades (350) but my bag is a hefty 850 mostly because I prefer to do my driving route for like an hour a week and stock up on 300-400+ items at a time since I don't have stops directly around me. They should probably open bag space up to 1250 or 1500 and give everyone a free 150-250.

This generation did a good job of balancing the types. They introduced steel and dark. Its the generation after this one where things went over the top imo
yea, I never played any game but the original but things become more diverse now, gyms should be slightly crazier (eventually at least) and not the same 3-5 pokemon.
Sliver/Gold/Crystal were the best games. If you have time between now and Saturday, download a GBA emulator and play it. Fantastic game
the silver/gold/crystal series the gold standard in pokemon games; The DS remakes add all the awesome things about 5th generation to them.
I assume Espeon will be a niche glass cannon like Jolteon/Alakazam, but I really want to see what Umbreon looks like
I thought I heard one would be total shit at gyms from the early formulations they looked at, guessing that's Umbreon. I'm just going to catch stuff for the first 2-4 weeks until they have everything hashed out on the sites so I don't waste a good base pokemon or an important item.
