Fantastic album. She's so good. Didn't know if it would be welcome in this thread, but I've been listening to it all day.
The obvious comparison is Taylor, but there's a lot of Paramore and Jagged Little Pill era Alanis Morissette influence in this as well. Plus some Eilish/Lana Del Rey aesthetic. I can’t recommend this one enough, it’s an easy Album of the Year contender for me.
Speaking of.... Hayley Williams's latest solo album is probably my favorite thing this year. That's another one I wasn't sure about bringing here, but it's amazing.
Oh, well Looks like Swallow the Rat and Clone put out a split LP today for those look for something a little (or much) heavier
Looked up that Rodrigo girl and she was on SNL at 18. Guess she's a budding mainstream pop icon like Swift
That's one I need to go back and listen to. I spun through it once and it didn't grab me, but I may have not been in the right headspace for it.
Over Those Hills, Find Me Here, and My Limb were the songs that grabbed me on the first listen. I've grown to love the entire thing though. Inordinary is probably my current fav.
Modest Mouse coming to Asheville my bday weekend Spotify presale starts at noon. Gen pop can buy Wednesday
So happy the show calendar is opening up. Just got My Morning Jacket tix for Forest Hills and trying to get Modest Mouse at Brooklyn Steel at 12PM.
How do you do Spotify presale? I am looking in app but don’t see anything. Maybe I just need to wait til noon
Unfortunately I didn't qualify and get an invite. Basically if they determine you are a big fan based on listening history then they send you a promo code. I use Tidal too much so my Spotify history is not representative of my listens. I have to wait until Wednesday now, but I would buy scalped for this show. It's on my birthday and seems like a good birthday night.
Oct 23 is my bday Didn’t get a Spotify code either. I listen to Spotify all day but not much MM lately so guess that’s why I didn’t get it. My venue has a presale for tomorrow at least
Ps Shiggityshwo now I see King Gizzard is playing Asheville that same weekend! (Oct 24) Don't think I can swing both though
Got my Modest Mouse tix. Have presale code for anyone looking for Asheville. My October is shaping up nicely: Marc Rebillet Local H Modest Mouse
Be thankful. Charleston Always gets skipped outside of jam and funk bands, which are my least favorite bands.
This was the first show I went to after this thread encouraged me to start going to shows again. I thought I was too old then. Yeesh
Seems like most bands are skipping Detroit, Lansing, Ann Arbor which is a bummer. Stop playing shit southern states and come play in the cities that delivered this country from evil
Black midi apparently leaked, or something else happened and it was released last evening which is a day early. It’s out now on all platforms, looking forward to listening.
they had a release party yesterday on youtube, I dipped my toes in midway through for about 5 seconds and smiled at the madness
saw modest mouse a few years back and was a little let down tbh. there was like ten people on stage and it was just too much
I've heard a lot of bad stuff about their live show. But, it's my bday weekend, it's a cool venue, and I haven't been to a show in over a year They are high on all time fav list so I guess I just want to check them off if nothing else
People say Isaac is kind of a prick and does stuff like play with his back turned or walk off stage early
I saw MM about 5 years ago and was pretty disappointed. I thought it may have been because it was outside, but Brand New followed them and sounded incredible so idk.
My sister saw that same show at Red Rocks. She's a huge MM fan but said same thing, Brand New wiped the floor with them
