Really need to move Gallo to CF and get DJ into the lineup daily. Just rotate him around the infield and let different guys DH daily. 8 and 9 are going to holes in the lineup bc we have nothing at SS or C so we need to at least have a solid 7 and Hicks isn't that. He'll be hurt in a few weeks so it won't matter.
Yea I'll never bash a guy for trying to get as much ad he can but I think his numbers weren't realistic. Cashman said they offered 7 years at $31m per year. I think that's a really really good offer. Today Rosenthal is saying Judge asked for 8 years but doesn't say a $ amount.
Going to the game tomorrow night. My bank gave me four Legends Club seats second row just behind the cameras next to the Yankee dugout. Pretty psyched. Heard the Legend's Club food is ridiculous.
i'm no expert, but it seems like maybe trading jordan montgomery for a guy on the fuckin IL wasn't the best thing to do in hindsight.
I get dealing for Montas, I don't get dealing Montgomery away. He was a solid arm that we knew could handle NY. Hopefully Montas can figurwe it out but it still won't make dealing Montgomery make sense to me.
Anybody else kinda ambivalent about Judge staying put? I'm to the point where I'd be happy if he stayed, but if SF outbids us like they promise to do, I'd just be "meh". NJ.com writer makes some interesting observations from the clubhouse after the loss. If they're accurate I certainly feel OK with him leaving. Yankee fans aren't ever going to change and if their wrath bothers you maybe it's time to peace out. Giants on mission to steal Aaron Judge from Yankees: ‘They won’t be underbid’ - nj.com
none of it will matter. steinbrenner (the mail man's kid) has no balls and is a lazy fuck, so he will not hire a new gm and will in turn bring back cashman, who will keep boone and continue to give us the same "ho-hum" results we've seen the last decade.
Honestly, I'm ready for this team to get really, really young again. Whether that's in an effort to hold cash to pay Judge and/or somebody else or simply because the team's entire hitting philosophy needs to change are irrelevant to me. Actually that's not true. I really want the team's hitting philosophy to change.
cashman gone boone gone thames gone IKF gone Torres gone Donaldson gone Hicks gone Rizzo gone (even though i want him back)
C: Trevino IB: ? 2B: Volpe SS: Peraza 3B: DJ LF: ? CF: Bader RF: Judge? and i don't give a fuck if they struggle, that's a team that would be fun to watch grow.
I'd pay Rizzo to stay and maybe I'm alone on this but I'm a big Gleyber fan. One of these stat/contract sites I look at says he's worth something like $16mil. a year based on his current body of work vs. the league. I'd give it to him. Everybody else on your list can fuck right off.
sounds like the rizz is going to opt out and head back to chicago, which is unsettling in regards to judge.
My adult sons put me about 20 rows off 1st base for the Subway Series this year as a birthday gift. A casual observation about Rizzo: He spends an inordinate amount of time in between pitches scanning the crowd for kids and hot trim to toss the ball to after third outs. It's like an obsession. I flashed him my tits but he just smiled and tossed the ball way over my head. On second thought fuck Rizzo, let him go back to his whores in Chicago.
If Judge walks it's an inexcusable failure. We passed on Harper, Machado, and other big time players because supposedly we had to keep Judge. If we just let him walk...lol. How on Earth can anyone keep their jobs. Somehow managed to have the worst of both worlds.
easy answer, the owner is a fuckin tightwad. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/16/sports/baseball/hal-steinbrenner-yankees.html
