If city come in it’s tough to say no to that project. United or arsenal I could see him giving Villa another year.
What else are Villa looking to add? Are they selling at all? Seems like the owners are really backing the project. Villa are a big enough club to challenge leicester, Everton, arsenal and Tottenham if properly backed. I’d include west ham but even with their good season, their owners are shit and I don’t think their success is sustainable. Leeds could challenge as well if they can sustain the current project and build.
Backup left back, forward and winger I bet they spend another 30. I don’t think they’ll sell anyone they want to keep
I don’t see City being appealing to a guy like Grealish. Just my two cents but Grealish plays like a guy who needs a team built around him (and successfully carries that weight for Villa to be fair) and would struggle being just a guy. Multiply that with Pep’s tinkering and idk if “the project” is that interesting. The money and the titles though...
France has some incredible, young, talented midfielders and every French club except PSG are in massive financial trouble. PSG could buy one or more of these guys cheap. Instead they go after a guy who will be 31 in November and give him massive wages on a 3 year contract. PSG have overtaken Barcelona as the worst run big club in Europe. Leonardo might be the dumbest executive in the sport.
I feel like Neves was asked to sacrifice a lot under Nuno, especially last year, but I think a move is best for both parties.
Not even close to the worst run club. They might never win the Liverpool net salary world championship, but they don’t need to.
go look at the PSG transfer business since Leonardo came back in 2019. This is the 3rd summer transfer window and they have downgraded their roster every step of the way. The money they’ve spent has been spent mostly on average talent, overpriced players that didn’t fit into their squad or in many cases both. The club is heavily backed financially but like Barcelona, they’ve done a really poor job is spending that money. Amongst the worst in Europe.
I can’t see him going for that much but the fit makes sense. Arteta wanted Jorginho on loan last summer. He may see neves as that ball controlling midfielder who can work better with partey than their current crop of players.
Arsenal have done a bad job but I would take edu over Leonardo if I were forced to hire a shitty Brazilian director of football. Although maybe the lack of a budget has kept edu from bringing back coutinho on big money and one upping Leonardo.
Was telling a friend yesterday that this move makes so much sense with the amount of fouls jack draws
His family may be, but he chose to sign for Southampton and has been with them since he was like 8 or 9. He’s now the captain. I don’t see him giving up all that to sign for Villa
This seems like a pretty good indication that we will continue to see more 2 striker formations from Leicester next season. This one makes a lot of sense with Rodgers time at Celtic. Seems like a good signing for that price if they get it over the line. Leicester doing solid business early per usual.
Many clubs in other counties are broke. Even a £15m deal is something that maybe only 30 clubs can do and many of them might not need a striker or he’s not viewed as good enough. There will be deals to be had for the owners willing to pump some cash in this summer and buy for the future.
I don’t even think you can find a Manchester United fan with a rashford avatar on Twitter who would take rashford over haaland.
