also yeah ftr I don’t think I would ever go to another draft unless it was in my city again but it was a good excuse to day drink on a nice day
Waited until Friday and friend had a flat with a balcony off Main Street that could hang out and drink on most of the time.
It is kind of weird to me how much he gets mentioned compared to other GMs when speaking about moves media people like. Kind of comes across like he's doing some PR for himself behind the scenes to make sure people give him credit. I could see why other GMs would roll their eyes at it. Warren Sharp was going through some analytics of drafts with top values compared to consensus lists. It was like "the Steelers," "the Browns", and "Howie Roseman's Eagles". I think there's a personal relationship there that's created problems in Philly before, but it just looks weird.
Davis battled injuries and definitely had a disappointing season. Dean wasn't asked to do much. remember he was coming off the injury that caused him to fall in the draft. he was basically only asked to play special teams. he'll be the starter this year so we'll see.
also I think the Roseman thing is just a product of being around for a long time and being good at developing relationships. sports writers love when people are nice to them.
Daniel Jeremiah recap of the draft. Best scouting/draft insider in the business, hands down. His explanation of the Jahmyr Gibbs pick helps it make more sense than it did initially (11:25).
They're making a measly low-mid 7 figure salary. They can barely afford a loaf of bread, container of milk, and stick of butter. Let alone time at a vacation house!
That fucking mountain of a human Jalen Carter showed more pass rushing ability on that one play than his former teammate and first overall pick Travon Walker did all last year
one guy is QB1 in this rookie class and the other guy is stuck in rehab because he can’t stop drinking
Brian Branch was incredible today. 11 tackles, 3 TFL and 2 PBU. Might be the Lions' best defender already. Teams spend all this time on the draft every year and still stupidly overthink simple shit.
the Bears/Panthers trade has to be the only lose/lose trade for a 1.1 in NFL history I guess the Bears technically won but its the Bears
I still don’t understand that one. That was like peak NFL draft circle jerk. The Lions could have taken him at 11 overall and not only would it have been a good pick, all of the talking heads probably would have praised it too.
speaking of 2nd round picks, tuli tuipulotu has been a really good player for the chargers and probably their best defender at this point in the year
They selected a OT that will play the next ten years. And will have two top 5 picks next year. The Bears won that trade.
