Very possible scenario that Fields showing some good things this year could end up hurting the Bears by not jumping on Bryce Young and then watching him become a much better quarterback elsewhere
I think Fields is great and then getting carter and a few picks would be the best possible outcome for them
very possible scenario that Bryce shows some good things in the combine and it ends up hurting the Bears when they take Bryce and trade Fields and then watching Fields morph into a much better QB elsewhere with actual weapons
The whole fields should be a rb thing is so stupid. Maybe he ran so much because he had a terrible ol and wr. Did about as well as you could hope for all things considered and if nothing else showed that he has a similar running ability as lamar
I don't understand PFF's draft content. They have all these grades that they take so seriously most of the time, and then they have their 187th ranked QB in CFB last year going #2 and their #120 QB (who no one has going in the first round) going later in the round. Those aren't the #187 and #120 ranked players in the country. Those are the #187 and #120 ranked quarterbacks in college football in 2022.
Trade down (hopefully twice) to get a guy like Carter and an OL and then use FA to put weapons around Fields imo
Chiefs drafting a TE and having Smith-Njigba going the next pick is pretty funny. I understand Kelce is older but not chance they pass on him to draft a TE
PFF has a big board that ranks Levis as the #3 player overall and #2 QB. It has McKee ranked 18th overall. This isn't just "this is what we're hearing". https://www.pff.com/draft/big-board?season=2023
I don’t find this scenario (drafting Bryce and trading Fields) possible at all. In fact, I think it would be an unprecedented move.
agreed. makes sense to throw away your position to draft back and collect players / assets in order to just swap young QBs
Think it’s safe to say PFF are useless. This is what they have for Cam Smith 65.1 573rd / 917 CB yet have him 12th on their big board
it's not the exact same situation but the jets just basically did it dumped sam darnold after three years and picked zach wilson at #2
Darnold was awful compared to fields and Wilson isn’t even close to the same prospect that young is but sure
Bears are in a pretty good spot. pick up some picks for whoever wants Bryce the most and take the best defender available. Good chance Carter or Anderson go 1 overall if they came out last year. lovie totally boned Houston by winning sunday and he's awesome for that.
About the only negative on Witherspoon is he dominated for one year. I think he will be a top 10 pick given a good combine
Lol it’s gonna happen. And when it does, I expect an apology from every poster ITT who said it wouldn’t.
What seems to be the more profitable scenario for Chicago? Stroud not declaring so then the price for #1 and landing Young goes way up OR Stroud declaring and being able to trade back a couple times with QB desperate teams?
Trading back multiple times in this draft also seems like a dumb idea. If you can trade back once and still get Carter or Anderson, do it. Going back multiple times (or dropping out of the top 4 for anything less than an enormous return) so you can take a lesser OL or WR seems like the wrong choice.
Don't know shit about most the DBs but really like this draft besides QBs and WRs. Maybe Skoronski will fall due to his size and possibly Breese(could be wrong here) but almost all the top guys seem to be freak shows.
Indy is 2 weeks from having a head coach. You're just causing yourself pain if you buy into any of this stuff at this point.
Fuck. I do not like the idea of trading for another WR after the Claypool trade was such a bust. Get draft picks. And I'd rather see more guys like Mooney and less big WR
And that head coach is gonna be elated to have a head coaching job in the NFL and will shut his mouth and let his desperate GM draft whoever he wants
