I know Arkansas HS Football is trash, but I look forward to watching this guy under perform at Auburn like all Arkansas QBs do
Dad is former Gator and NFL running back Earnest Graham. Those jorts probably cost more than anything in your closet, Pete.
We recently had a 5* OT just quit football because by year 3 he was a mediocre guard and decided he was just going to go pro in school, so that's probably in the range of outcomes in play here
If they’re bringing family for an unofficial that lasts a couple days, that may just be travel expenses at this point
This is not just in the midwest. And I think it's more than $5k for some kids. You're not allowed to pay any of those expenses for an unofficial, are you?
Maybe. Pretty sure they're not allowed to hand over $10k+ in cash on the visit or get into bidding wars with other schools competing just for visits, though. And that's been happening for years.
Unofficials are not allowed to be paid for by the universities, at least when it comes to travel expenses. So to siphon money to these kids via “NIL” to cover travel costs would technically be something that’s extremely murky from a rules standpoint at this point. But I’m sure everyone is doing it.
It’s absolutely happening. Paying guys to visit your school instead of another has been going on since the beginning of time. Now it’s just getting wrapped up in NIL money instead. look at some of the visit schedules. You got schools hosting a bunch of out of state recruits when hosting a FCS opponent that just happens to coincide with a big home opponent weekend for the team you are competing against for that recruit.
I member when Patrick Johnson (now Peterson) was bragging about getting 20k just to visit LSU while committed to UM.
Yeah people really think these kids are putting out the 3k+ it takes to visit a lot of these places? Paying for kids unofficials has been the most popular form of cheating for decades.
I always love the recruiting gurus saying how it’s such a big deal when an out-of-state recruit make an surprise unofficial visit “on his own dime”
Well it was on his own dime. That dime just happens to be reimbursed plus a little extra when there's a nice little duffle bag waiting in the hotel room. Naw man family road trip It's just a 16 hour drive each way from South Florida to Ohio State. 32 hours in a car to see OSU play Youngstown St. is a VERY reasonable $200 in gas and a $100 hotel room.
