I've had the Beta for quite sometime... No weird issues here. Some apps will force close after random events but nothing crazy. Now on iOS 11 GM and it seems fine.

Just can't tell if the X is worth waiting for at all. If the Face ID is slower than the Touch ID I don't want it. Pretty annoyed they're moving away from Touch ID bc I use it in several apps as well. I also like the home button and I'm not a big fan of swiping from the bottom. I'm sure I'd get used to it but I really wish the X had Touch ID under the screen . Seems like that would be a perfect phone. Honestly I'd prefer the X to be the same size as the 8+ just with screen where the top and bottom frame is.

 

Should've just moved the fingerprint scanner to the back for the X.

 

Installing iOS 11 on my work iPad. Took less than 5 minutes to download. Will report back.

 

FYI

For the fast charging discussion...just make sure your adapter can supply 2 amps of current. 1A is the rated current of the typical iPhone charger, 2A is what the iPad comes with and that's what constitutes fast charging.

 

guessing there is no discount for the non 4k appletv? I was hoping they'd drop in price

 

Getting hired full time at my work (was under contract). New work phone will be an 8+

 

downloading/installing iOS 11 now.

 

First reaction: I don’t like the new look. Things are bigger and clunkier and make the screen seem smaller. But cellular bars are back

I believe I heard them say that the Facial ID will work on all of the apps that the Touch ID worked on.

I'm waiting, and getting the 10.

 

Yeah I don't know how to feel about the faceID. I don't think I look at my phone most of the time while I'm unlocking it, but I like everhting else about it and feel like the 8 is just a waste to move to over the 7 I have currently.

 

I'm in that same boat, my kid has a 6 that is about to croak out.
My options are:
1. Buy him a new battery. Not really interested in opening that phone again, the screen replacement was tough enough for me.
2. Buy him a new phone, 7 maybe? (none of my kids have had "new" phones, and he is the baby and don't want to hear it from the others.
3. Upgrade my 7 and pass it down. I have justified option 3 with the wife, and going X. (Even if his phone shits the bed and he goes a few weeks on the 4s that I have in the drawer)

 

No issues so far with 11 on the iPad

 

I've had the beta for month or 2, and have not had any issues. Like the swipe up tools screen more.

 

The animation when you return to the home screen is unsettling and the App Store is just godawful

 

Does anyone feel the phone unlocks faster than it used to?

 

Seems ok to me after 10 minutes of playing around. I like that everything is on one page the swipe up command center, instead of having to flip back between audio controls and the other phone controls

 

Scrolling seems faster too

 

The markup on photos is kind of cool and something I'll rarely use

 

Oh you can save a gif in your photos now. Then send via text. That's fun too

 

I've thought the sending of a screenshot without having to save it is a nice addition.

 

How did you have to send GIFs before?

which was just giphy, sometimes it was hard to find the one you wanted to send

You could do that before, it just wouldn't play when you looked in the photos app. Once you sent it it would play again.

 

You could always do that noob.

 

It never played when I sent the text. Would always save as a still photo, and stay a stil when i attached it.

 

Rumor is Microsoft exchange doesn't work if you do the update. Any truth to that?

well that was definitely the quickest update and install I can remember. took maybe 15 min total on my 6s

 

Yea I haven't had any problems with exchange on outlook.

 

Idk what we were doing differently, but I was able to do that shit back on my 5s and then 6s

 

Took a solid 1.5 hrs just to download on my 5s. Currently doing the "verifying" thing. Good times.

 

The feature I've been enjoying the most is the new screenshot tool.

 

This super fast fingerprint unlock is driving me nuts. Anyone figure anything out on how to change that?

 

Imessage is amaze, screen shot is great

 

On what phone? 6s Plus and 7 Plus have that raise to wake feature to help avoid pressing any buttons if you're trying to glance at your phone.

 

Yea I know about that. I don’t really care for it (just personal opinion). I’ll keep searching.

 

Also, anyone else notice the swipe down notifications to be basically useless now? If the phone was unlocked you used to be able to see messages and all that. Now it looks like a lock screen. Dumb.
