Easy to say about him, but his opinion has been right the vast majority of times in this thread. Not to mention we are in a thread dedicated to bitching about cops.
He's not interested in discussion, just policing the board and shouting down things he disagrees with
How has it been “right”... saying what the police could’ve done better in a highly intense situation with the benefit of hindsight? Even then, he’s wrong most of the time.
I’m really not interested in having a discussion with you, other than to tell you you’re wrong. So in that respect, yes it does.
I don't follow this thread as closely as I once did. Makes me too sad. siap from 4-17 Unarmed black man shot dead in his car—CA police reportedly showered him with 30 bullets Spoiler Leslie Salzillo Community Tuesday April 17, 2018 · 10:04 AM CDT Another unarmed African American man identified as Diante Yarber was killed on April 5 when Northern California police fired a Bonnie and Clyde barrage of bullets at the car he was driving, which was carrying several African American passengers. One passengers, yet to be identified, was a woman who was injured after being hit by two bullets. The scene took place at a grocery store parking lot. The Guardian reports. Police in Barstow, two hours outside of Los Angeles, killed 26-year-old Diante Yarber, who was believed to be unarmed and was driving his cousin and friends to a local Walmart on the morning of 5 April. Police have alleged that Yarber was “wanted for questioning” in a stolen vehicle case and that he “accelerated” the car towards officers when they tried to stop him, but his family and their attorney argued that the young father posed no threat and should not have been treated as a suspect in the first place. There are conflicting versions as to what happened. Dale Galipo, an attorney representing the 23-year-old woman hit in the car, said the investigation so far has revealed Yarber was unarmed and that officers were not in the path of the vehicle, which means they should never have discharged their weapons, let alone fire a barrage of bullets. Stephon Clark, also an unarmed black man, was shot dead weeks before while standing in his family’s back yard in California. Though Diante Yarber’s death did not made headlines until recently, both killings expose the deadly aggression of police officers in black communities. The attorney for Yarber’s family believes the shooting was about racial profiling. Lee Merritt, an attorney for the family, said “They saw a car full of black people sitting in front of a Walmart, and they decided that was suspicious,” said Merritt. “They just began pouring bullets … It’s irresponsible. It’s dangerous. It’s mind-boggling, the use of force.” Firing bullets the way these officers did, with shoppers and people standing nearby, is beyond reckless. Training and policy dictates that police should not fire at moving vehicles, said Galipo, noting that these kinds of killings are avoidable and particularly dangerous. Last year, undercover police in Hayward, California, attempted to shoot a driver they were trying to arrest and instead killed a 16-year-old girl sitting in the passenger seat. And some folks still wonder why and how Black Lives Matter came to be. from 4-20 Family sues police department after teen son killed in mom's minivan while backing out of driveway Overland Park, KS son was shot Jan. 20 Spoiler Walter Einenkel Daily Kos Staff Friday April 20, 2018 · 1:32 PM CDT Recommend 140 Tweet 148 Comments 148 new Overland Park police have gotten away with what seems to be murder in the suburban county outside of Kansas City. Below the fold you can watch two reports and videos on the Jan. 20 shooting death of 17-year-old John Albers by Overland Park officer Clayton Jenison. Jenison shot Albers as the teen backed out of his family’s garage while driving his mother’s minivan. Police were responding to calls concerning a threat of suicide Albers had allegedly made to friends over FaceTime. His parents are now suing after Johnson County prosecutor Steve Howe and his “investigation” concluded that the shooting was “justified.” The officer "acted recklessly and deliberately" when he shot and killed Albers, who may not have known police were at his home and was "simply backing his mom's minivan out of the family garage," the lawsuit says. "A vehicle passing a police officer does not give that officer an ongoing license to kill an unthreatening citizen," it says. It is unclear whether or not Albers even knew the police officer was at his home as he began slowly backing out of his family’s garage and down their suburban driveway. In the video you can see that Albers is potentially shot and loses control at that point, as more police vehicles happen to converge on the scene right at that time. After officer Jenison unholsters his gun and shoots twice, as Albers slowly rolls his mother’s minivan about a car’s length out of their garage, the brakes go on and then the car begins backing up and turning wildly. It is at that point that Jenison unloads another 11 or so shots into the minivan. When they arrived at the home, two officers never “announced their presence at the residence” or even knocked on the door, the complaint alleges. Several minutes later, the family’s two-car garage door began to rise, according to the lawsuit. Officer Jenison began moving toward the vehicle and unholstered his weapon, as Albers backed out of the garage at about 2.5 mph in a straight line, the lawsuit alleges, noting that the officer’s actions were contrary to department policies and general law-enforcement standards. Jenison allegedly yelled “Stop! Stop! Stop!” and waited only “one second” before he fired his pistol twice at Albers. The Daily Beast says that Albers was hit six times: in the face, in his neck, in his head, in his chest, and in his torso. Johnson County prosecutor Steve Howe told reporters that “None of us can be in the mind of the officer at that time.” This is a meaningless thing to say. Whether that officer had incorrectly “feared for his life” or not is immaterial when your job is to not kill people—especially kids who have committed no crimes and are in distress. According to the Kansas City Star, Jenison has already resigned from the force for “personal reasons,” and is an Iraq war veteran with two young children. Jenison's father, Cecil Jenison, reached by phone at his home in Wellsville, New York, said Jenison served in military combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and has been out of the service for a couple of years. Jenison recently became the father of twin daughters, his father said. Attempts to reach Clayton Jenison for comment Tuesday afternoon were unsuccessful. No one answered the door at his Olathe home and a message for the attorney representing both Jenison and the city was not immediately returned. Warning: the video below is graphic. but hey they got the Nashville Waffle House asshole and apprehended him ALIVE
Suicidal teen leaving his house? Welp, gotta kill him.. smh This shit is insane. But hey at least he quit his job.
And yea the odds that the WH shooter would have been taken alive if he were black are about 2% imo. He killed people 2 days ago so a cop would be justified in "reasonably" fearing for his life.

Omaha Police release video from 2014 shooting at a Wendy's that killed a COPS crew member. OPD did not use body cameras at this time so the only perspective is that of the second member of the film crew. The robbery suspect was carrying an airsoft handgun, both he and the crew member were killed by police bullets. http://www.wowt.com/content/news/Vi...g-that-killed-Cops-crew-member-480827321.html
ehhhhhh is anyone thinking he might not have actually been unconscious here? It also looks like the cops are fighting eachother. One pulls the guy one way, and the other cops perceives that as the guy resisting, and pulls him back the other way. Repeat. The guy is on his back, with the one cop yanking at his pants, with his legs folded around the cop, while the other cop tells him to get on his stomach. what?? I'd like to see someone in that position comply with that request. Then, of course, when the guy can't actually do what's being asked, he's being combative, resisting, etc. Pretty standard stuff.
Tasers are now known to be life-threatening if used too much on someone or in dangerous areas. Tazing someone 18 times should be straight up manslaughter. Also, yet another example of cops facing literally no consequences for their actions . I don't know why people even pretend that they aren't above the law at this point.
well, i mean, they are above the law when on duty (for better or worse). they are immune to normal prosecution for non-outrageous actions.
I mean wtf. Dude was chilling in the shower when they got there. 30 minutes later he's dead. But there's "“no basis to conclusively link" them to his death? What in the blue fuck?
But Trammell, who was 22 and suffered from schizophrenia, did not exhibit any sign of needing medical attention until the officers had attempted to forcibly remove him from the shower, according to investigative reports. When they pulled aside the shower curtain, Trammell stood still and stared blankly at them, the body camera footage shows. "These police tortured Adam Trammell to death," said Robin Shellow, one of the attorneys representing the Trammell family. "This was not 'help.' They were not protecting or serving anyone. Naked, cold, confused, alone in his own bathroom and crying for Jesus to take him, he needlessly suffered."
Is shooting an unarmed man 20 times for holding a cell phone considered non outrageous? That's a really stupid line of thinking and the reason so many cops continually get away with murder.
I didn’t click link, I was just teasing about his “above the law” comment. He wrote it as if it was a maybe or a debate, but it’s a definite. that’s the problem. LEO’s suspend normal decency, morals, common sense, etc as soon as they put on the badge. You hear endless amounts of stories against cops, right? Well a lot of them are great guys out of work. As soon as they start their shift, that changes. I know a LEO being looked at for petty theft right now and he is in charge of little league.
Based off the post in here, yes. But I consider any police conduct to be outrageous if it fits the criteria of an actual crime. They shouldn’t get away with a simple battery just because they are on the clock.
I know a large amount of cops and while most are great guys on and off duty, I know a few that are absolute shit bags off duty. That's essentially my issue with all of this. I have great respect for LEO's, but there are definitely some that abuse the power they are getting. I know being a cop is tough, but not every cop has the mental makeup to be a cop. And these bad cops getting a free ride every time they show they dont have the capabilities to do the job make it harder for everyone. There's going to be a cause and effect where cop killings are going to increase because there's going to be scenarios the idea in a person's mind it's going to kill or be killed. Maybe it's a cop that abuses his power, but it could also he a cop on a routine stop trying to do his job correctly. Then we will have a war I want no part of.
Btw dont worry we got mental health reform on the way, very high priority every couple of weeks something in particular happens. This kinda thing wont happen again
