The premise was good, it was a little to campy for me. Black Museum and Arkangel were my favorites from last season
I really enjoyed Hang the DJ. The score was amazing. Anytime you can get Sigur Ros and The Smiths in your production is pretty awesome.
Season 5 premieres December 28th. First episode is entitled "Bandersnatch" and the along with the 'Chose Your Own Adventure' style ep this season also apparently includes episodes that take place in the world of "White Bear" and "San Junipero".
It was awful. They focused too much on the interactive choose your own story stuff (which really isn’t all that good) and forgot to think of a good story. The story sucks. Easily one of the worst stories they’ve ever done.
No. We are getting a season. Haven’t seen the number of episodes anywhere yet, though. And I liked Bandersnatch quite a bit more when I went through it the second time.
So I can’t watch the episode on my amazon firebox. But I can on my iPhone/iPad. Which is weird to me
Loved it. The actual story was pretty pedestrian but as a proof of concept it was great. I loved going through it a second time to get different endings. Got the 5 star ending and a few others but I know I missed some
Black Mirror basically has “fuck you money” status when it comes to Netflix. I like the fact that this series can take chances with the interactive platform and so on. This wasn’t my favorite BM episode. But I liked the concept.
Yea I love the choose your own adventure style. Just wish the characters and story were better. Still looking forward to my second play through.
Apparently Netflix approached them about the idea and had to sell them on it. They've (Netflix I mean) got plans for future COYA movies too
Thought it was fucking awful. Story was terrible and the choices became repetitive fast which was really disappointing as I love BM and had high hopes.
I think people are getting too bogged down in the weakness of the story. This is a prototype. It was a test, to see if a cyoa movie was even possible. And it fucking worked. I think they made it overly complex, and it needs to be easier/quicker to navigate, but I think bandersnatch demonstrates the massive potential this has.
You'll make about a dozen or so choices in a complete run, but half of those could spin you off on a different storyline with more/different choices. It's remarkably well done and seamlessly edited
Loved it and thought the story line was great. It was the story within a story, with a plot in a plot. Watched it twice, didn't get all the endings based on what I read here and probably will watch again. Thought all the dialog was great as well, especially on the second watch when you know what the score it. Spoiler First time through we had no clue you could choose an option, using firetv. Wasn't until the second play through on PS4 where the controller started vibrating where I realized it was responsive and interactive.
So you just watched the prompt with a 10 second break every 10 minutes and thought that was just part of the episode?
lol at the spoiler. Did you not know it was choose your own adventure? I mean that was kind of the whole point of the thing.
