Not close to half imo. I beat that around lvl 15. Beat the whole thing around 31, and levels take a lot longer the higher you get.
it took me a month to beat because of busy schedule (just beat it last night) and i'm level 34. did all the side quests too to get to that point. btw i did the gamestop preorder and got the creature slaughter dome. really happy i did. made the ending much easier. the reward for beating the slaughter dome was a rocket launcher that did 22k damage. in playthrough 1 at the end the highest rocket launcher i've seen does 13k damage.
Good info about the different playthroughs: After playthrough 2, all the enemies scale to level 49+, and you can complete the remaining side-quests you didn't do in playthrough 2 (but you can't redo any quests). Why is this important? If you want the most powerful unique rewards, you have to leave those side quests until 50. However, as I just found out after leveling my same char to 50 again, if you pick up the quest as you level up, you won't get the scaled level 50 reward. So if you want that sweet unique reward at level 50, you have to leave the quest untaken (i.e. the giver still has the exclamation mark over his head). Then when you take it after you complete playthrough 2, it will be a level 50 quest. Found this out when doing the firehawk line of quests again so I could get the level 50 version of that ridiculous reward it gives you. Luckily I hadn't picked up the final quest of that line, but the previous one only gave me a level 34 reward. Hope this helps. Also just to reinforce this post even though it's been mentioned, PT2.5 is unlocked once you beat the story the second time, not once you're 50 as far as I know. The only thing I would say about Foxy's post is that if you are confident you don't need the reward at 50 (is green, eridium or nonexistant) and the quest isn't a chain, then you can do them in PT2. However, back up your save before you do this in case the reward is indeed unique. If you are in playthrough 2 (or remember from PT1), and the quest panel shows a blue or purple item as a reward (you can see this when hovering over 'undiscovered' quests), chances are it is a unique weapon so if you want the 50 version, exit the dialogue and leave the quest untaken until 2.5

im level 24/25 right now, just making my way into the stalker wilderness reserve place, doing all sidequests prior to main story lines because YOU GET A BULLET, HE GETS A BULLET, EVERYONE, GETS A BULLET!
Just made a commando class. After working with zero to 50, holy shit is the turret comically overpowered. And I love it. I have the rocket upgrade and it just wrecks everything. Killing stalkers used to be annoying as shit. The turret couldn't give fewer fucks about invisibility.
Need my buddy to hurry the fuck up. He's had it since it came out and is still only L17 I think, haha. I was making it through ok until a Goliath Blaster pops up and can kill my turret with one rocket shot and me in two. I had no chance at all.
I got to the part where you have to climb the tower to get Brick's explosives in caustic cauldron and basically just said fuck this.
so i read that thing one of you posted about doing story missions only and going back in playthrough 2.5 to play everything at level 49+ and getting great loot. i'm level 39 and just got done meeting the firehawk, but i can tell here on out is gonna be super tough. any tips for me getting better guns? all of my guns are like level 35-37 and i'm fighting 38 guys now. drops have been pretty crappy overall and same goes for quest rewards. should i just bite the bullet and do the side missions to help me level up and get better gear?
I would definitely do side missions until you are level 50. Its the same as trying to beat the first play through without doing side missions, just 10x harder. I'm just saving as much as I can mission wise for leveling AFTER fifty, whenever they uncap the level. I played the DLC on Normal, but am saving TVHM missions in that as well for when they raise the level cap. Just don't want to be stuck grinding a ton of levels out because I have no missions left.
Level 20 Zer0. I'm on story mission 12/19. Never really got into BL1 but enjoying this one quite a bit.
That was just if you wanted to try to get the orange weapons and better loot. The orange weapons are super rare and that strategy is to have a better chance bc you cant re do the side missions after you finish TVH mode thus deceasing the chances of getting the weapons
Jesus. Fink's Slaughterhouse was insane. My roommate and I finished all 5 rounds at level 20. Pure terror.
Bama and I didn't realize you could ride the elevator up and shoot in the arena after dying. On the last round we got swarmed by rats and such, didn't make it, and we just sat in the lobby while his brother had one of the highest level badasses chasing him in circles. Was quite entertaining watching his dot run in circles on the map, but I'm sure he would have liked our help.
Speaking of rats, I despise those thief rats. I called them rat bastards routinely throughout the first playthrough. Seems fitting that their name is rat bastard on NG+

I only died on round 2 for some reason. I discovered the nest at the top of the elevator then but never needed to use it.

think I did Fink's somewhere around lever 23/24 and those last few rounds were a bitch solo. for those that play online apparently there are some jackass modders out there who are joining public games and doing some mod that corrupts your save file. They don't gain anything out of it beyond being giant assholes, so beware of strangers joining your game I guess.
CUtigers and I just finished up beating TVM. Now we are going back and doing the 50+ side quests we decided to leave alone after we hit level 50. We did the T.K. Baha's gun plans quest as our first 2.5 mission, and got our favorite pistol when you give the prints to TK Baha's daughter instead of Hyperion. 4500 damage plus 400% Critical hit damage and 200% accuracy increase the longer you fre the gun.
Just hit a wall on solo TVH mode. When the Thresher swallows the beacon. Gonna have to take this online I guess.
I'm not sure what gets under my skin more, not getting the Bee shield or having to watch my health get sliced in half after I get out of the vehicle. edit: Got the shield, only 8 tries.
Finally got the Bee to drop after 2.5 hours. It was only a level 48 doe. Do I have to be on PT 2.5 to get a 50?
