Nah they are just what they always are. They blow out some mediocre teams early and then they get demolished by a good b1g team and just wear down over the course of the year and finish 7-5 or 8-4.
idk, do you think 7-5 is good? because that's where they are headed will likely beat Sparty, UVa, Nova, Indiana, and Northwestern to start 6-0 or maybe 5-1 then go 1-5 down the stretch vs USC, Minn, Oregon, Rutgers, Iowa, and Penn St
USC going to Maryland the week after a home game against PSU screams a Terp spot and it feels on brand for USC to lose in a spot like that
it does, but if UMd is 6-0 and say #21 in the polls, I think USC is less likely to take the Terps lightly now if UMd was 4-2/3-3 at that point, then hello fuckery
Lincoln is 6-5 on the road vs ranked teams; 4-1 when favored meanwhile he's 18-2 on the road vs unranked teams; 18-2 straight up as the favorite but only 5-15 ATS (avg line of 19)
Man, ND fans are REALLY feeling themselves going into this season. We’ll probably end up where we always are…back half of the top 12ish. Getting worked up over a week 2 AP poll is something.
2014-23 Penn St with 5 10-win seasons and 4 top 10 finishes. 88-39 record, 82-15 as a favorite ND with with 7 10-win seasons and 3 top 10 finishes. 95-33 record, 85-15 as a favorite
It's still way too early to know what this week's wins mean. Honestly, Penn St. looked about as good in their win on the road as any other team that won a challenging opener, save for UGA. It'll all shake out. Top 7 is a good place to be after week one.
We crushed WVU last year too and had some explosion in the passing game. This year it felt a bit different in how we accomplished it, but we’ll see. We had 8 plays all of last season greater than 40 yards. We had 4 of them Saturday. We’ll see if we can do it week to week now. An injury to Singleton or Tre Wallace and our explosion is gone and we are probably 2023 offense again just with more creativity from Kotelnicki.
So with FSU playing Brigham Young Episcopal this week, who are we looking to give us our hilarious upset of the week?
top candidates imo would be Okie St vs Arkansas Kentucky vs South Carolina Auburn vs Cal Clemson vs Appalachian St Va Tech vs Marshall and Oregon vs Boise would be the funniest of them all but I doubt that happens
