I think 2011 Alabama/LSU, 2006 Ohio State’s/Texas, and 2006 Ohio State/Michigan are the only other regular season matchups of 1/2 in the last 20 years.
I don't care if they do the same team 12 times a year. Just do the biggest game each week. Just my opinion.
dumb. Explore the uniqueness of college football and various campuses. Setting up at the same 6 campuses is stupid.
Especially when LSU-Bama is next week and PSU-OSU is after that. And I agree it is a bummer that Minny PSU isn’t this week
Memphis avg's less than 30k fans a game. Yea sure let's send Gameday there when even people in Memphis don't care.
I enjoyed the time I spent in Memphis other than it being cold as fuck and we lost. I would also rather go there than Jax.
They aren’t going to pass up 1 v 2, it almost never happens. If Minnesota has any shot (and it’s slim), it would be Wisconsin at Minnesota on 11/30. A couple things have to happen. Wisconsin has to win out (Iowa, at Nebraska, Purdue). Minnesota has to look competent while losing to Penn State, then win out (at Iowa and Northwestern). If so, 9-2 Wisconsin and 10-1 Minnesota should see both teams ranked low teens. Georgia has to blow out Auburn, taking Alabama/Auburn out of the mix. ESPN will have to choose Minnesota over Ohio State at Michigan, but Gameday will likely have been to Columbus the week before for Penn State at Ohio State.
idk this year sets up to be different. Bama's defense isn't what it normally is and LSU may have figured out how to offense so it could be a shootout.
Also, not that this makes a big difference, but the CFP rankings will be out after this weekend's games and Alabama will not be in the top two.
fwiw he played last year and they were shut out at home. They had less than 200 yards of total offense. Bama's defense isn't as good this year though so idk.
It would be a lot cooler if that game was in Dallas. At least they could then do it from campus. I guess they'll film on Beale?
Yeah if it was at SMU it would have been super cool with the backstory of the program and everything. Oh well. Memphis' resurgence is a great story in itself.
A lot of weird hate about the location of a pregame show. I know it is such an important decision every week what city a stroke victim will mumble from and then dabble in cosplay. “Grrrr, no one will want to watch Georgia vs Florida unless Corso gets confused on if he just put on a bulldog or gator head and waves blindly!”
It has more to do with them focusing on the teams involved at the location they go to and I prefer to learn stories about teams that are relevant. Last week we learned about South Dakota State. This week, Memphis. Yay.
Do you not know enough about Georgia or Florida who play in a game located in the city that you live in?
and other people find it way more interesting to learn about South Dakota St and Memphis for the first time over hearing about Auburn or LSU for the 7th time.
