Agreed. I definitely think they have to investigate this, but just a couple of pages ago everyone pretty much thought this was all just the Texans trying to drag Deshaun's name through the mud and I haven't seen much so far to dissuade me from that opinion. Clearly DW is not as squeaky clean as many people thought he was before this, but it's a big leap from getting a happy ending and an anus oiling at a massage parlor to rape/sexual assault IMO. Especially with as many instances of false, or at least questionable, rape/SA accusations as we've seen before.

That was what I was trying to imply with the "rape/sexual assault" part of my post.

To me, this still feels like, at best, Buzzbee found some women that Deshaun may have messed around with and is looking for a payday or, at worst, The Texans/McNair/Easterby/Buzzbee are trying to smear Watson for whatever reason.

That is certainly possible, but the whole situation just feels fabricated to me due to the source of the accusations (Buzbee) and the frankly suspect timing of them. I'm simply withholding any judgement for now. I'm not going to go ahead and convict him because this former Marine screamed some shit from the rooftops of social media, but I'm also not absolving him of guilt, just taking it all with a grain of salt for now.

Also, the fact that they are all filing civil suits and not criminal over something that absolutely should be criminal charges if true, along with them approaching Watson before ever filing suit and demanding payment, basically asking him for "hush money", doesn't sit well with me.

That is simply pointing out the reasons I'm skeptical and why it feels like it could possibly be a cash grab instead of a legitimate complaint. As I've said, he could be guilty, but he could also be innocent. A possibility that you seem to have completely ruled out.

I'm aware of that, but do you not find it just a tad suspect that, with the current issues between Watson and the Texans, McNair's slimy lawyer friend and neighbor suddenly comes forward with a multitude of accusations, none of which were ever reported to police or apparently anyone else and which there have never even been whispers of anything approaching such behavior from Watson before?

Again, he could absolutely be guilty, but as far as I can tell this case is entirely based on "he said/she said" and Buzzbee going and asking Watson for hush money before ever filing suit is not a good look IMO and does not inspire confidence in his clients' versions of events.

I could be wrong, but between this being Buzbee’s little project, all civil suits vs criminal, the timing, and the women being flown in to give watson a ‘massage’... I think it’s perfectly fine to doubt these stories without some legit evidence being provided.

I am always skeptical of a famous person accused of this by 1 or 2 people. You start getting to 5+ accusers and I tend to think you prob did some shit you shouldn't have

Which was the way most people reacted to it just a couple of days ago and no actual evidence has appeared in that time to justify changing my opinion.

Watson is one of the last athletes I would have thought a story like this would be linked to. Bc of that bias, I was a little skeptical when it was one. But seven? Damn that's tough to not lean toward their being some truth there. Gotta wait for it to play out but it doesn't look good now.

 

Yes, Jameis Winston agrees. Watson has 5x more accusations so he must be treated 5x as harshly. What’s fair is fair.

Fuck, you really have a tough time with the English language, don't you? You need to learn how to discern between an opinion presented as a possibility and when someone is putting something forth as what they believe as fact.

It is my opinion that this currently feels like it is, at best, Buzbee trying to shake down Watson. At worst, it is some kind of wild smear campaign by the Texans, though I cannot fathom why they would do that. It being the Texans, though, I can't rule it out.

However, at no point did I ever discount the possibility that he might be guilty. I have, in fact, stated multiple times that he could very well be guilty. The more women that come out with accusations against him, the worse it looks for him.

And just to be clear, I am not a Watson fan. If he is guilty, throw him under the bus.
