I had always wondered why Storm was never picked for Sumail except for once or twice in the last year or so. The hero isn't what it once was, but other teams were picking it sometimes and having success.
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Kiev_Major/2017/Main_Event Damn, sad I missed the Secret collapse. Also sad they robbed us of the EG matchup.
This is pretty much what happens with single elim right after a new patch I think. Everyone is still trying to figure out what works so you have teams like Secret and TNC that stomp their way through the group stage and get dropped in the first round.
Idk, I enjoy single elimination. But we're also sports fans, so we possibly appreciate it more than the typical Dota nerd that complains about it. But teams probably are more experimental in the group stages.
See I think new patch was definitely helping Secret. They had won 20(!!!!) straight games in pro tournies including this major's group stage. They were kings of the new patch, just got completely outplayed game 2 and then horribly outdrafted in game 3. I love single elimination except at TI
I pray to the frog we don't see PL back anytime soon. Just had a PL who absolutely destroyed our team because my mid picked medusa after I already had WK. didn't help our jungle LC had 24 duel damage at 29 minutes. PL is just pure cancer
Just played my longest dota game ever at 96 minutes as an LC. Only had 420 duel damage and my team flamed each other for probably 80 of those minutes. I had an awful game but we still won.
I got into dotes right around TI5 when PL and Lesh were stupidly OP. I just like the hero and think he could use another small buff and not be cancer. He's not a terrible hero right now but just very situational.
Also VP just had one of the most ridiculous combos I've ever seen. Vac/Wall/Crush/Static Storm on 5 heroes.
I would not have guessed the rest of the night would turn out like it did after the first game. We had a randomed mid kunkka who, after getting shit stomped the first couple minutes, turned his attention to griefing our jungle WK (skillet). Then I random Axe next game and someone who I don't care to mention had the gall to doubt our ability to win the game...https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3145745796 I had been wanting to play it recently, so I'm glad I saw BrickTamland 's carry Venge posts from earlier in the week. I forgot how nice that is. https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3145892305
Hell of a series. EG didn't play perfect but SG played really well. Really thought they were about to lose game 3. Looking forward to OG match tomorrow but I know I'll just get pissed when they pick Naga, Alch, or TB every game and beat EG.
OG just moves around the map so much better than EG. It's like clockwork, OG's ganks work and EG's don't.
If Twitch is going to be the primary vehicle to deliver Dota viewing, they need to make an option to 100% completely block whatever that shit is in the chat box. Like, completely. I never want to see that spam, childish drivel.
Why not give my profile the option to simply never show that chat box? Are they so committed to catering to the 12yr olds?
