yeah, i dont understand what they were doing. i thought the sand king was going in to try and steal it and he almost got it. but why would ame go in, waste his bkb 1v4? why did the sd (fy?) go in to try and disrupt someone? it was really sloppy play by a great team.
Alchemist needs to fuck off back to the dumpster. Ana played like absolute fucking 2k pubtrash but it doesn't matter because the hero is idiot proof. No matter how badly you get stomped you can just go jungle a few stacks and be right back to dominating the net worth charts. Memeback mechanics killed DotA.
Meanwhile kill gold isn't even close to worth it. Og keeps winning because other teams have yet to realize that killing enemy heroes can never generate a gold advantage vs the other carries who are now freefarming when you ganked someone. Alchemist just exacerbates the problem. Wings gaming come back and save us from this cancer.
2 new heroes coming in the Fall. I saw a post about Void Spirit on reddit and thought it was some kind of shitpost about Faceless and Storm.
The post made it look like a 4th hero type—strength, int, agi, and now void. Not sure though. If so, gotta imagine a ton of rework to the game to add that and change existing heroes as well.
If that involves being passive around pickoffs or team fights that you might win, you’ve got to commit to it. It’s why EG lost. That and that terrible G3 draft. Kunkka instead of AM wins it. I’m still salty.
My brother spoiled the final results for my other brother and oh boy is he pissed. Having TI in China kinda sucks tho
OG clearly the best team in the tournament. Wasn’t close. Great TI aside from their dominance. Some really great games, amazing group stage, good LB run by liquid, good runs by Mineski and Infamous. 1.1million viewers on twitch, another “1.3million” on Chinese streams. $34 mil prize pool. Big update coming in “fall” with 2 new heroes. Alive game
EU TI should be fun, but I was hoping for a Manila TI. Those Pinoys make for an amazing love crowd because they go crazy for everything good
We just need the salt to return to NA. Give me PPD on EG w/ SumaiL wanting to play with him and I'm golden.
Logged on and played the other day, game is in a really good place. Split MMR for roles, choice to queue for role, ability to remove players from your games permanently.... Meta pretty fun too. Someone tried to play invoker as a 4 and failed miserably but haven’t seen anyone try core IO recently.
I don't play Dotes anymore but watch it, seriously if you make Riki broken so a shitty 1k like me with no skill can stomp i'll be done. I love Riki dota.
That being said I uninstalled and sold all my hard. This game is toast. It's now an anime battle arena from 2007 wc3 rather than a game with any strategic value. The last game I ever played featured my team giving up 40 kills in 19 minutes but still able to come back and win easily until our alchemist decided to destroy all his items and feed.
To save DotA cold toad needs to do the following: Increase kill bounties and respawn timers Cap buybacks at 2 per hero per game Make tp scrolls take an item slot and increase them to 100g Eliminate bounty runes Increase gold loss on death especially for heroes carrying a ton of gold Make wards worse. Make Roshan tougher
Buy backs are an interesting thing, revamping it would change current dota drastically I feel. But I don't know the solution.
Buybacks suck and are why games don't end because winning a decisive team fight just isnt enough. Heroes with big teamfight ults are in the shutter right now because they suck ass after using their ults and the enemy team buybacks and wipes you after you use all the ults
Og won because teams are stuck in the past where winning lanes and getting kills mattered. It takes 2-3 heroes to kill another hero early game. The amount of gold you get from that can never keep with 2 other heroes feefarming.
Og was 18th in creep last hits during group stage. I haven't seen the stat for main event, but I'm not sure if you're exactly right with why og is good. They get hero kills at a very high rate. Ana and topson were both top 5 in total hero kills before grand finals. Keep in mind i do agree that gold needs to be toned way down, so I'm not really arguing with you here.
Shuffle has started. Lots of rumors that Fly and S4 are gone. Fly to TNC? For whatever reason, none have PPD going back to EG. Is that bridge really burned?
God bless Infamous and mid riki in TI, now I can play it in my pubs And yes I picked riki into Nyx and Clinkz and they didn't rage quit. (lost mid to ES by about 300 gold at 10 minutes, we were down 10K at 30 minutes, but they couldn't hg vs tree volley and smoke screen)
The thing I most agree with is the need for buybacks to be more punishing. They should be a last resort for a base defense, not so unpunishing that cores can use them at 15-20 minutes to turn team fights and it be 100% worth it. I don't want a cap, either though. Kind of wish it would just go back to where you'd earn reduced gold for a few minutes after you use it. (or just make them cost more) Yeah, in game 2 of the grand finals they were losing lanes and then basically ran around as 5, completely ignoring creeps and or farming and had like 20 kills in 20 minutes. They're maybe the most aggressive/fast team in dota. Hell, they were the ones that basically started the buyback abuse meta to keep fighting while other teams would split push, and when Topson hits 6 on Tiny or MK he just runs around the map non-stop looking for kills.
