Pedophiles and Nazis have gotten way too fucking comfortable being in the public eye, and I'm not exactly sure why or when it happened
I recall seeing Dr Disrespects annoying face on a can of some energy drink. I’m not a father myself but if I had a child that wanted a can of that drink specifically because the guy on the can is their hero, I’d probably feel a bit unsettled.
Hasan is pretty much the only streamer I’ve spent more than one hour watching in my lifetime and I know I’d fucking hate it. He has people that keep track of how long he takes to go to the bathroom. And for the streamers that want to stay in the good graces of Twitch, the ever changing list of things that could get themselves banned would annoy the hell out of me. I don’t really like the idea of having SWAT Teams sent to my house either.
I'm skeptical of every youtube personality/influencer because it seems like a lot were just more willing to engage in blatant anti-social behavior than "normal people", hence why they gained noteriety.
People really underestimate how much these people make. I know someone well enough that has like 4k subs, plus ad rev, plus other social media that they get paid for views, plus sponsorships. They told me they make like 30k+ a month and they’re not even a “big” streamer
He’s said that in one month in 2018 he made $5m of his creator code by people putting it into the Fortnite item shop. That’s not even ad revenue, etc, just kids buying fucking v bucks
he made 20 mil a year from the deal he had with mixer and they paid it in full even tho they went under lmao probably underselling
they also make millions from youtube with almost zero effort. hire an editor to cut highlight reels of their streams for youtube.
Brother, Hasan gets it much worse than even your typical stream, as right wing freaks routinely send him death threats on top of all the other bullshit that your usual big time streamer deals with
I really don't get it with this piece of shit. You've made tons of money. Invest that shit and ride off the into the sunset, dirty fucking pedo
This is why I pretty much watch exclusively small/medium sized streams, something in the range of 200-1.5k viewer streamers range. Where they're at least still somewhat normal and the chat isn't moving at such a pace where if you want to ask them something they can still likely see your message without it being filled by 50 emoji spams.
I've moved almost exclusively to just watching soda because I've been watching him for well over a decade at this point but even now I watch less and less each year. ignoring stuff like LoL worlds and whatnot, I imagine soda is 95% of my total watch time over the past few years. I genuinely don't seem to find entertainment in anyone else. watching Hasan get one guy'd into the fucking moon for the 10th time that day or watching Nick say something weird and then laugh just doesn't do it for me anymore. I loved pre-react Asmon (when he was 100% WoW and mainly just mount/mog farming) but he's an ogre nowadays. IRL can be neat as well, seeing what's new on Maya's zoo every few months is cool. best thing that happened last year was soda GMing an HC classic WoW guild (which is happening again in October) just because tons of stupidity is bound to follow as other streamers underestimate classic and die in the dumbest ways, wasting dozens of hours of leveling time. FeelsOldMan e: checked my recap. 87 hours watched. soda was 73 and his alt was 12 so yea.
I guess he’s leaning all the way in. Gonna have NickMercks and red-pill chuds pay his mortgage for him?
I realize I’m an old at 34 but almost every streamer seems like a freak to me, I don’t understand the community. Limmy is the only one I watch at this point
Is Nick still doing well as far as $ like he was? I recall seeing months ago he was getting horrible numbers on his streams but I am clueless when it comes to this
I'm 38 and I've never watched a streamer. I'll settle for youtube rain and snow camping videos thank you very much.
Limmy playing lumberjack dynasty in like 2020 was the peak for me. You’re doing the right thing though
I’ve no idea. He’s had his own bit of controversial commentary, so it wouldn’t surprise me is he’s seen a dip in viewership. It seems like it would be so easy to avoid those pitfalls by just not engaging.
you’re probably younger than most here (not me 33 ) but there are some decent streamers I play as background noise when I work. Mostly just dudes playing Elden Ring because there’s so much shit I haven’t done in that game. I don’t watch anyone regularly outside of that though but I see news about them all the time
Lol. Yeah I kind of understand the appeal sometimes just never enough to dig in deep enough to find normal people. All I see is shit like Dr disrespect being a freak then pivoting to right wing grifter (the easiest grift) and shit that means nothing to me like “Bello has been blocked!”
I only watch 2 people mainly and they’re both just chill ass dudes that play games. Zero drama out of either of them or weird vibes https://twitch.tv/cohhcarnage https://twitch.tv/ginomachino
I suggest Limmy but he’s no good at games just likes to play random shit / troll on dead by daylight. I knew him from his “famous” sketch show and his Twitter so it’s not like most streamers
This is where I got nabbed, used to watch stuff when I charted but would catch myself getting sucked in, needed something more benign and streaming was it.
Also, streams are cool if you play games a lot like I do and you want to know if a new game sucks or if it’s worth buying
I never watch streams, but I consume entirely too many 10- to 12-minute YouTube clips, mostly for whatever loadout is meta in Call of Duty.
you’re a better man than I am if you still play cod. They lost the plot about a year after wz came out and it turned into slop. That was my fav game for years. Sad to see but I might buy the new one just for zombies also most of the vids you watch are from streamers so you could always see what they’re using daily in their games if you went to their streams
