My new dynasty coach Al Garhythm just guided FAU to a 9 win season and a Liberty Bowl win over Cincy. Got a job offer from Louisville that I’ll probably turn down.
I've seen some weird poll issues during midseason but it tends to work itself out by the playoffs. Now, some weird teams have risen to power in mine...but I'm also 15 years in the future so maybe Pitt and Nevada are sleeping giants and we don't know it.
Not as bad as before, but in my online dynasty, one of the users has beat me twice, I'm 11-2 and he's 13-0. He also has a few other top 25 wins on top of his 2 top 5 wins v me, and he's ranked 3rd going into playoff and I'm 4th, both teams ahead of him have losses. So not sure why he isn't ranked 1 or 2.
Our online dynasty seems to favor "what have you done lately" into the algo. Michigan is #3 and undefeated, while the #1-2 teams are 1-loss teams who lost to Michigan (in the first 3 weeks) during the season but have had more Top 25 wins since then.
Just lost to BYU on 4 fumbles, lost 3 of them. They took spins out if you're on conservative so there's not much you can do now. Just random flukes. Hadn't had a fumble in probably 10 games and then 4 in one game smh.
It's also pretty dumb that by default your CB1 lines up on the right and the WR1 lines up on the left so WR1 is always matched up on CB2. If someone has a fast/good WR1, you're better off putting your best CB at CB2.
Adjust in what way? I don't want to turn on the feature where your DB's match up based on rating bc if they motion it makes your DB's switch all over the place and they can snap and guys are wide open.
Going back to the speed thing, Will Johnson has literally 0% chance to cover Bond on a go route. Zero. 96 overall CB vs 88 overall WR and literally can not cover him on that route, even playing off. He just runs right by him. They had 10 years to fix that and still it's awful.
This might be the worst player I've ever played. He was 3/10 with 3 ints. He had 8 rushing yards. 54 total yards. Vs Vandy!
Started 6-0 with Bama, lost game 7 to BYU on all the fumbles, tried Michigan and got wopped by Bond, then pulled two W's with Vandy out of my ass to make the playoffs at #8. Had to beat a 1 and a 2 to go from 60 to 8 in the last 2 games.
Not sure what's going on with my Auburn dynasty (solidly the "B" dynasty behind Ball State) but I've played 10 games so far, and like 9 of them have been in the pouring rain.
do you guys use the portal in your dynasty? I haven't signed anyone out the portal since the 2026 class (now finishing 2029 season). I just don't feel a need given I sign double digit 5 stars and 10-12 4 star gems routinely
Only if I really struck out on a position of need and find somebody worth a damn in the portal. Although I will often scout a bunch of portal guys just in case I come across a gem.
The portal guys are worth scouting. I've seen some 4* who already developed to an 88+ Don't take your FSU portal hate out on the video game portal
Portal kind’ve sucks in the later years when your team is so good. The portal players not going through training makes zero sense and only helps create the lack of portal interest later on
My team in my new FAU dynasty was looking better and better, and now it looks like I'm going to lose everyone to transfers. My starting QB, a bunch of OL, my best RB, etc. Fucking sucks. I also lost my best OLB last portal season. I guess this is what happens when you sim the games instead of actually playing them? I was averaging like 212 yards rushing and 230 yards passing in the sim. Apparently not good enough. I tried playing a couple games and focusing on passing or rushing stats, but it's hard to overcome the overall average.
I’ve never seen a gem in the portal. Didn’t think that was possible. But they are worth scouting. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen a RB have 99 speed and 99 acceleration. Other than when I’ve moved a WR to RB. Which is weird that they almost always jump up at least five points in their overall rating.
these are all the portal guys I have signed. Maxwell Hairston, Darius Taylor, Francis Mauigoa are pretty much the only contributors I got out these 2 classes
When you have a 2 deep of 5* guys that you've developed well, you're less likely to need the portal. Not many guys in the portal will be better than what you have.
that's kinda why I asked; I feel like many here have reached a point where they're recruiting so many 4s and 5s from HS, do they even bother looking in the portal in the offseason? also not gonna lie, now that the portal is all computer generated guys, the names don't jump off the screen to me like they did early on. I know that's a little silly, but familiarity absolutely led to me pursuing some of those guys
lol yea that's what I thought but couldn't remember for sure. Try a 1*, probably use the portal more for guys looking for playing time.
I pretty much only use the portal to boost my OL if it’s necessary. Seems to be OL and CB are always the most commonly available.
I think this can be changed in coaching adjustments. I thought I saw an option for having your CB be matched up by overall vs whatever default is.
as a data nerd, I absolutely love that it tracks how many times I have called a play and the YPP it has averaged same with formations
1st playoff game was against a guy that had mastered inside kicks. He was terrible on offense and defense though, thankfully. He cheesed and got 3 of these kicks so I returned the cheese and ran kid blitz the entire game and he had no answer for it. He ran the same 3 plays, you can see me running his route for him on 1st and 4th down lol. He didn't get the. All back after this.
You can do that but when someone motions or a RB is split out wide, it'll make DB's flip sides to match up and they can snap it and have guys wide open everywhere. Go to 18:30
Also, the super vast WR often times isn't the best WR so your best DB would follow the best WR and the super fast one would be in the other CB.
Couldn’t tell with the spreadsheets provided earlier. Lowkey am the same way and love it. Used to keep a document of players growing up. I’m a loser, yes.
I use the portal for the first ~2 seasons in dynasties with Auburn because there's a lot of trash on the 2-deep and the 2024 team has a lot of seniors. By year 3 it's just looking in the portal to see if there's any crazy good players that I need because multiple recruits didn't pan out in a position group
83 safety, was a 5 star athlete (WR). Always recruit them and they play safety if I can’t find a hybrid for that year
I had a 83 MLB he rose to an 85 during the freshman season. He was only impact dev trait though, so wondering how high he gets total
There’s some funky ways to get over skill caps if he’s capped out. Move them during position changes, train them at say CB or DE and then move them back after
W in the semis. I assumed you'd always play other people in the quarters or semis or ncg but the guy I just played was in quarters and i was in semis.
Noticed this the other day and thought it was cool. Is it tied to the user profile, or for your specific team? For example would it show it for all the times I’ve ran it online/dynasty no matter the team or would it vary?
QB- 78; was 5 star elite trait improviser RB- 81; was 5 star elite receiving back WR- 79; was a 5 star elite physical WR TE- 79; was a 5 star "star" possession TE OL- 82; was a 5 star "star" Power guard DE- 83; 5 star elite speed rusher DT- 79; 5 star "star" speed rusher LB- 83; 5 star "star" power rusher CB- 80; 5 star elite Zone corner S- 79; 5 star "star" Hybrid safety
True, but every so often you can find someone who is already a 92+ OVR in the portal at a position of need. Those are worth going after. For the most part though, once you’re an established program bringing in 5 stars regularly, taking anything but elite transfers just creates the need to force transfers out of youngsters with potential.
I'm convinced I'll never win a natty. If you're bored and have a few minutes, watch this and feel bad for me. I knew I was fucked when they gave him the block kick animation on my XP to go up 9 with a minute left. Good drive by him, broken tackle for TD smh. Missed 2 point conversion. I'm good right? Hell na, he gets onside. Doesn't go 10 yards but no flag? Wtf? 3rd down he throws in triple coverage, no INT. 4th down, he gets a dime in triple coverage. FG that barely gets in wins it. I'm furious and idk what to be most mad about. I'll be on 2k.
