So he is beaming
That sounds pretty awesome tbh
Take this to the awesome things your FIL does thread. Also, pics please
This is that thread
Sorry I’ve been in the wrong thread.
We are also equal opportunity here. You're good fam
watches sporting events on mute. we can even be at my house watching a game with the sound on and I’ll get up to use the restroom and come back to the game muted. do i un-mute it when i get back? idk wtf to do this is so awkward.
Talk to him about it
i generally don’t care what’s being said on the broadcast but I can’t be just hang in silence. the clemson game was an excruciating four hours
“what’s your deal old man?”
If he does this at your house, these are the steps need to take.
1. Before sitting down, pick up remote and look him dead straight in the eyes.
2. Hit the unmute button, still looking at him dead straight in the eyes.
3. Take remote and put it inside your pants and run it through your ass crack, do not break eye contact.
4. Set remote down, do not break eye contact until after this is done.
I was thinking more like “hey would you mind if I turned the sound back on?”
If he says “sure, no problem” like a normal person then eventually asks if he prefers to listen to games with no sound, and you can follow up and ask why if he doesn’t give much info.
If he says “no” then remind him who is railing his daughter and turn it on anyway.
I would come back and be all "oh sorry, guess I accidentally hit the remote and muted the game when I got up" and unmute it. At worst it starts the conversation.
he’s watching the cowboys/giants game with sound on and I didn’t even have to booty bump my roku remote
is my fil a mainboarder? show yourself rick. didn’t mean to put you on blast but glad we navigated this shit
update: he likes troy aikman
My FIL is 72 but looks like he’s much older. Had a lot of health issues but very nice guy and we get along well.
Not the kind you would imagine is any good with technology, he’s always asking me questions about his phone how to work the TV etc.
Today the wife and I were hanging hooks to hang string lights and he says watch this, he takes one hook and and puts it in the drill and uses it to drill that hook in and says “I learned that from TikTok”
Could have knocked me over with a feather
Getting surpassed by technology is my nightmare.
I bet you don't even know how to use the three shells.
My FIL is joking/not joking about moving to Dominica because Biden wants to increase the capital gains tax to 43%.
when will this thread be updated with the next Myrtle Beach adventure?
User GingerKnickers finding and liking the OP in this thread made me smile
I need it in my life. Hopefully FIL packs the bike outfit again to show off the hog.
Mid July. He just retired but won’t get the vaccine. Already very hesitant to go out to eat when we go out which is about 95% of what they look forward to. We are flying down so we are right back in to our pre-covid routine of uncomfortable discussions.
So he’s scared of the virus, that he can readily get a vaccine for?
Uhh now is the chance to put your foot down and say you're not going to do anything if they don't get vaccinated.
Buy him one of those little gold stars from the crazy Nashville hat lady.
Whew buddy if he's scared of covid and won't get the vaccine he's going to have a real bad time in Myrtle Beach. There won't be a mask in sight and plenty of those people aren't going to be vaccinated either.
I appreciate all of the replies based on logic…that’s why I’m here
pregnant wife is on bed rest. doctor said no sex. when she said this, her dad said “what does your dentist say”
