JVP 's obsession with how medal counts have been shared for every Olympiad in history is really fucking weird
Ehh no, I remember this argument very clearly in 2008 and basically everyone in the world besides the US uses gold medal count.
...right, and the rest of the world doesn't recognize it as the official medal count. Googling medal count inside the US, i.e. localization, even shows golds first now.
And yet he was responding to a US media account And has made at least 10 similar posts the last few days . He's a weirdo
And? That wasn't my point. In each specific Olympics that's the way to list medal count and the US hasn't done that in every Olympics in recent history.
Which countries have the most Olympic gold medals? The U.S. has the most gold medals: a total of 1,179, according to the Olympic Foundation. Following is the Soviet Union, with 473 gold medals. Germany takes third, with 342 gold medals.
The U.S. has won the gold medal count in every Olympics since 2008. There hasn’t had to be an argument about which way to count them. We will, undoubtedly, carry the count again this year.
In Russia/USSR's defense, they've left a lot of medals on the table... Spoiler ...by invading other countries
Usually we clean up in swimming so that remains to be seen but hopefully we'll actually have a good track and field team this year since Jamaica is down.
Because it makes the most sense? This isn’t the gotcha you think it is. We’re going to do the most medals and most gold medals either way. Like we always do.
bump Hope y’all enjoyed your little premature ejaculation in the first 3 days of swimming. Enjoy the taste of our dust
I was thinking there should be a point system similar to that back when this dumb aussie conversation started
You're surely not dumb enough to think anyone here expected to finish above the US? But sure, well done for taking a week to catch up to a country of 25 million.
not surprised to see the Aussies cheering on the Chinese, always the saddest country of the Anglosphere. Sad! Kiwis would never.
