Thomas on IR - probably won't play this year.
Cool cool cool.
Killing our cap space too. Fucking signing him to a big deal has been brutal
Please trade him for a bag of funyons this off-season
I think most teams would prefer that bag of Funyons
No one is taking on that contract. We are stuck with it
2023 Dead Cap: $11,813,000
2024 Dead Cap: $13,639,000
2023 Cap Savings: $16,450,000
Just fyi. I think he'll be cut after the season with a 6/1 designation.
Joe Horn or Colston would have played through it.
Been a while since we’ve been in dead cap hell I almost forgot what it was like!
Junior Galette's dead cap hits still keep me up at night
Well that sucks. Signs a huge deal then is hurt every year after.
We Olave bois now
Well I think it's fair to say that he didn't really want to play those first two years. I mean who sprains an ankle and is out for two years?
We're fucking terrible. Dennis Allen is bad, Pete Carmichael is bad. I didn't give Sean Payton enough credit for getting this team to not suck.
Good news is I've made good money the last couple weeks betting against us. Somehow we're favored against the Rams, unless Donald is in a coma I think we're toast.
I guess Kupp being out is worth at least 14 points bc we have no business being favored against anyone
I’m glad we have Olave, but this will make you sick. Especially when we need a good QB and this looks to be a decent QB class
Could have had Bryce
tua 2.0? I think we are good
Well if penning turns out to be good then it won't look as bad but right now it looks god awful
There’s no defending it. It was an awful move for an org needing to rebuild.
Well, since we don’t have a 1st round pick we might as well keep coming up with these shithouse wins and see if we can back door our way into being one of the worst division winners in history.
then sell Payton to some team for their 1st round pick I guess
This is the way.
We're in such a depressing spot as a franchise. Feel bad for AK
So you’re saying there’s a chance
I kid. Kill me please
Please let it happen so we can spite racer
What did I ever do to you, besides send you dirty Dan?
Oh yeah, I stand behind that 100%
Well the good news is we don’t have to watch this team beyond next weekend
Payton come back to coaching so we can get a first
We’ll take Brady too!
I’ll take a washing machine over Dalton. Thank you
Dalton has such terrible pocket awareness. Glad we won, glad Latt is back - I assume at this point we're rolling with DA next year again, just need someone else at OC. Will say I'm looking forward to seeing Olave and Shaheed the next few years.
Cut his ass.
Why would Thomas agree to that though? Maybe he also wants to move on.
I think it’s quite simply because he gets an extra million. He gone for sure
Yeah it's a cap move, if we cut him as a June 1 cut we can't use his cap space until June 1- this is a hey take a massive base salary paycut for $1m bonus and we're going to cut you as soon as possible so you can also be free to sign elsewhere.
It sucks, he was such a beast and then shit injury luck, bad injury management by the team, badly handled by Thomas, and just shit luck again.
I hope he signs in the AFC and has a couple more good years so he's remembered for how good he was - not just these last few years.
I would say it’s the worst contract in the history of the saints but he at least earned the contract. Imma go with Byrd as the worst contract in our history
Byrd, Browner, Galette
Browner for me. God he was absolute butthole
This shit is inexcusable
To be fair, Sean McVay couldn't do shit with Andy Dalton at QB. Nothing matters until we get that figured out.
that’s the whole point … I don’t trust this staff to figure that out
The personnel packages is what bothered me the most. How many times on 3rd down and in the redzone were Kamara, Taysom, and Olave on the bench. When the game is on the line we went to Marquez Callaway.
We're not going to keep 6 season tickets next year, I couldn't give those away at the end of the year.
Maybe we're just quietly throwing in the towel on next season so our new head coach in 2024 can hire his own guy at OC. :(
I would be in favor of going with Carr.
Im fine with it depending what it looks like. Trading and taking in that contract is not ideal, so hopefully some of that gets worked out. Also we better not be giving up a first. We shall see I guess
