This is not a good look coming from someone who lives in the city where the most infamous moment of violence in American history took place. Spoiler
Well that's what I was basically asking - how reasonable is it for residents of that street to expect that there wouldn't be a steady flow of randoms taking pictures just outside of their property? Which, by the way, I wouldn't call being averse to that wanting extreme privacy, I'd say that's pretty normal. I can't tell from the video, but it didn't look like a "park" as it was referred to, and if you tell me to imagine "an extremely beautiful public area in a huge city," that's not what would come to mind either. But perhaps that location is the Houston equivalent of central park, or is one street away from a major shopping/pedestrian area. Or maybe it really is an honest to god park that was designed for public use. I can't tell. And none of this is to defend the woman - she was clearly in the wrong, whether it was racially motivated or not (it probably was).
Here are a couple articles from late 2017 about that area (hope there are no paywall issues), the HOA has been pretty involved: Article 1 Article 2 Also, here's a google map link to get an idea of how the streets look: https://goo.gl/maps/5tc9SdtPX782 And a house currently for sale there in case you have $4.3M laying around: https://www.har.com/1324-south-boulevard/sale_77850028
No, there are large parks and there are smaller parks in neighborhoods. We lived at post oak park and it’s basically a small park surrounded by neighborhoods. They ended up having to put up gates but they never locked them so anyone could come in. Pretty funny actually considering you could just have walked around the gate even if it was locked. A large park would be like Memorial where it would be really awkward to do that on a trail considering how busy that park was all the time with people walking and running.
My in laws live around the corner so I’m basically a victim here and I’d like to thank francie for protecting our neighbors from these selfies.
There’s absolutely a 0% chance that crazy lady picks up her dog’s shit if she has it at that park. None.
Well, maybe it would have helped if had added that there's also a major freeway between my house and those 5 blocks and prices drop about 4 million dollars when you cross the freeway ;) Spoiler: Hi Regardless, this small set of streets is a few blocks north of Rice University campus (highlighted), while current Dodgers GM Andrew Friedman grew up a couple blocks west on North Blvd (also highlighted).
I don't think anyone should have an expectation that they can shoo people out of public places just because they live nearby
That house sent me down a rabbit hole looking at Houston's most expensive homes for sale. I'm pretty sure this house has two home theatres which is something I don't know that I've ever seen before. These definitely don't look like the same room. https://www.har.com/5619-walnut-hill-lane/sale_NTREIS-13888776
Does she have a racist past or social media presence? Or since she has a history of doing this with multiple videos, does she target minorities?
Fuck all those people in the first article. They don't deserve the wealth they've accumulated or inherited.
Yeah basically anything inside the loop to the west is nice. Old crazy lady had no right doing what she did but I can see a person like her doing it.
Probably won't get any emails back, but I was a little surprised they replied fairly quickly and let me know it was assigned. I'll be shocked if a rich white lady gets charged with assault or battery.
Nope it would justify (to her) her racism. We live in a civilized society. Adults aren’t supposed to start fights in the middle of the street over shit like this. They did the right thing.
I choose the spread in picture number two as a fine place for me to try and indoctrinate friends and family with the greatest of movies. Instead it’s probabably a PGA viewing lounge
A rich white guy I knew from the gym stabbed another guy in the heart in front of both of their girlfriends (who initiated the fight at a bar in Midtown) and got away with it. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&sou...aw3Ui4e7MrTTNnmtT6ZFn7GW&ust=1551267581895234
Completely agree, but I can kind of see how it would get annoying the more elaborate the “shoots” got. The HOA ought to just buy the strip of land if it wants to enforce it.
Correct. I didn’t even know he had went to trial until I posted that comment and went and googled his name and that story popped up.
The only upside to this is that the family will get paid and it will lead to so many families of all colors taking pictures there just to piss her off. Exactly the way it happened with barbeque Becky.
They actually have his and hers theaters. Gonna be sweet when we get to watch their beheadings in there.
I've learned a while ago that calling crazy women crazy always ends well. Also, that's about a block from my place and one of the streets I walk my pup. It's sorta pretty, by Houston standards, especially around Xmas. Never seen anyone posing for pictures there but wouldn't see why not. I did get flicked off and told to fuck off while taking a pic of Walter White's house in Albuquerque in December though. I pulled an Ethan Sherwood Strauss and waved when the older lady started filming me. Never heard such language from a 70 year old.
It was an obvious punchline, not sure how you missed it if not for the purpose of showing everyone how outraged you were.
Fuck her, but I hate the woman in the previous video so much more since she has so much more of a life than that of a gas-station employee. Wonder what happened to her.
I feel kind of bad for that lady. I mean fuck her bigotry but she's a victim of our society as well. She got what she deserved here but I don't feel vindicated about it like other instances.
Heyyy, would you look at that! https://www.click2houston.com/news/...during-baby-s-photo-shoot-will-not-be-charged
I can't wrap my head around the level of racism it takes to put your life on hold to give someone a piece of your mind. I'm incredibly narcissistic and my time is worth way more than any societal "cause" I witness as I'm driving down the road. It would be like seeing 2 Westboro Baptist members all alone holding a sign and sliding your car to a stop to tell them they're fuckheads. I've got way more important things to do than pull over and waste my time on something that won't change. Having said that, this woman should go to prison for ignorance.
