I've seen a few single barrels of the Holladay getting around. Would love to get my hands on one of those.
I honestly wasn't blown away by it. I'd be surprised if it faired well in a blind but I don't know. On the tour we had it with the other whiskey row lineup and I thought 1920 was quite a bit better.
1920 is 15 proof higher. I think both are very good. I wouldn’t chase 1924 though, if nobody said it was a thing to buy.
This was my Saturday night. I think it is a good bourbon. I don’t think there is a reason to pay over $75 for it.
my sister is going to pick me up a bottle of Olde Raleigh at a store in NC, should i go all in and try the Coffee Cask Bourbon? They also have the Honey finish too, but only 4 bottles of each. Or just go traditional.
Shared Pour just restocked Discovery 11. I think a few people were looking for it or talking about it. https://sharedpour.com/products/bar...721556635&mc_cid=6ba3fa4738&mc_eid=93ad9e9559
FYI, my two old stubborns arrived this past weekend from SharedPour. Not sure how they are doing this but can't believe I never knew it worked
I got 2 bombergers for the price of an old stubborn. I just can't do it. Also my buying freeze is not the most successful freeze
Couldn’t help myself after the talk in here and grabbed a Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse proof. First pour is coming off pretty hot.
The first pour I had didn't blow me away. But I tried it again about a week later and it was completely different. Really opened up. Definitely has some heat though.
I tell myself I’m going on a buying freeze after November/December allocation season every year, but it never goes well
the regular bottle is generally well-received in the area. Wish I could give you more, just haven’t had the opportunity to try it yet.
I don’t think there is a right answer here. It really depends on mood for proof. Both are the same quality IMO.
