Excellent. I have been watching my girlish figure lately.

 

Had to redo it again. This is close to final...

 

In this case it is MGP 99 corn 1 barley aged in previously used whiskey barrels, so you don't get as much char.

 

Do certain things just get flagged?

 

Never had light whiskey. Color me intrigued.

 

It didn't get flagged, I just wanted to name it, but the other got flagged as a possible NBA copyright violation.

 

Think vanilla cake batter.

 

If one was going to do only one of this and the RiRo bourbon, which do you think is better?

 

Currently swayed by the barrelverse label if I’m being honest

 

Barrelverse is an easier pour. Low proof and excellent. This is it's own thing that some of us love. Very deep rich midpalate flavors of caramel. I chase down every one of these bottles. No right answer.

 

NBC is a more unique flavor profile you don't find anywhere else.

Had a clear-out-the-bar party over the weekend due to the bottles taking up too much real estate in the house. Knocked out around 12 bottles and raffled off 5 others with all the raffle money being donated to my local ASPCA.





*I had already thrown out a few before I was informed they were being kept for a picture.

 

We made it to fRYEday.

I've tasted them like science projects Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of last week. Then Rye'd again tonight.

I thought this was a judgment-free zone.

I try to wait a week after opening before going back for seconds. It's proving difficult.

 

late to trying this but right off the bat the color is incredible. My first drink of the night and this is dangerously smooth for its proof and the fact I haven’t had any primer. I get a lot of vanilla frosting and brown sugar on the nose. Palate is where I’m getting the rye and cinnamon red hots. **edit - towards the end of the pour and now I’m getting a lot of chocolate - great drink!** Finish is long and super viscous. Excellent job pick team! Gonna try not to finish this whole thing this weekend lmbo

 

Last dude to judge but 130+ proof in afternoon seems kinda wild.

Happens to us all.

 

The Lee Rye Jenkins is elite imo. It drinks really well for a 132 proof. The Rye'd or Die drinks substantially hotter . Rye'd or Die is still good but I don't think it's on the same planet as Lee Rye Jenkins.

The label art is badass and these are going to be 2 of my favorites in my collection moving forward. I'm going to go ahead and move Lee Rye Jenkins into the category of the best of the best I have . Thanks again to all for all the work that went into this. Amazing.

 

Funny, I think the opposite in terms of hot. These two are so different, which is what I love about them and it really comes down to whether you like a bright palate like LeeRye of more of smoldering warmth like Rye'd.

 

BTW, I have close to 900 bottles and they are both top bottles in my collection.

came here to say (or slur) something similar. I enjoy Rye'd, but every time I pour Lee Rye - dayum.

 

Saw someone on River Roots Rickhouse saying Rye'd or Die is one of the best ryes they've ever had. Pretty high praise.

 

I'll have to see what I think after the second pour. Might have it again tonight.

 

That is Brolando Mel, who said that after drinking Subtle Spirits 56, which is elite tier, and goes for around $650.

 

Wild Turkey 101 8 year making me feel a bit better after Wizards draft position went from 2nd to 6th and Caps lost. Maybe the best sub $50 bottle I’ve gotten from Virginia ABC

Tried Rye'd or Die again tonight and the nose was straight orange creamsicle. Smelled so good.
