Good to know. Taking my son to it this week.
It's legit well written and has a couple of early laugh out loud moments too. When I saw all of the big stars who were voices I was thinking it would be a mess but it's not. I enjoyed it.
yeah I was a little worried when I had looked at the cast and saw all the names. both kids loved it (it was our 3 year olds first movie theatre experience)
now Im just wondering how long I can keep them from figuring out we can stream it at home.
We’ve found the 3 month old likes when elmo is on tv. Giggles and is entertained so we can wash bottles or clean.
is this the greatest moment in television history?
all the kids in my family vote a resounding yes.
I know some of you newer dads were talking about swaddling a few weeks/months ago. I still got it. My 8yr old just came into the living room this morning with a blanket and asked me to wrap her up.
Usually I get requests to wrap baby dolls or stuffed animals but this morning she was in an extra goofy mood
2 year old hates this. I loved being wrapped up
You're not trying to throw her in a river are you?
Levi has 2 new things this week, I is adorable and the other is excruciating on the top ears.
Adorable, spinning in circles and laughing until he falls down.
Excruciating, he has discovered his high pitched squeal/scream. Not trying to discourage him from his development so how long can we anticipate this stage lasting where he makes our eardrums bleed?
Good news, the high pitched squealing only lasts for a couple months
Tomorrow is the day.
After a year's delay due to Covid and subsequent online-only classes my son moves onto campus for the first time tomorrow.
I'm excited for him but it's also finally starting to hit home that things will never be the same for any of us.
I am a tangle of emotions.
both are quick stages, hated when he spun around and his eyes would like roll back of his head and he fall down, he though it was awesome
Very recently found out my wife is pregnant, it will be our 1st. I’m so overwhelmed with emotion since finding out. I just can’t wait for this baby! I’m sure I’ll flood this place with questions.
get ready for the ride of ur life !
First flight went great. On the west coast though and we are waking up quite early, folks.
Smuckers advertises the Uncrustables as “the perfect on-the-go snack” for infants learning how to feed themselves.
Let’s check in with our real-world correspondent:
Yup, when I’m “on-the-go” I definitely want to clean jelly out of his hair.
Little guy is 3 months old today and a snotty mess. Laughs uncontrollably when the snot is sucked out of his nose so that’sa good sign i guess.
I actually miss the satisfaction of a good blue bulb booger.
Anyone else make their own baby food?
I started doing it early on bc it was easier to get him small portions of solid food if I made the portions myself.
Since then it’s kind of become a thing.
This weeks menu is puréed ground beef, spinach, sweet potato and a half of an avocado. This is in addition to 24 ounces of milk and other snacks and parts of our meals.
It’s actually really easy and is pretty convenient.
Yes. I did it to justify a vitamix purchase to my wife.
Hello, are you me?
ive cried more since finding out than I have in like 15 years
We tried for awhile. Our kid isn’t a picky eater, but we found that if we didn’t get the purée mix exactly right he’d refuse foods he normally likes. And even though we eat mostly whole foods, we started worrying he wasn’t getting enough variety.
More power to you if you got it to work though.
The purée phase goes by pretty quick and true solids are sooooo much easier. Being able to put a plate in front of him and let him feed himself while you supervise and do stuff in the kitchen, or just share your meal while you eat too, is infinitely better.
Ha, I went the food processor route bc we didn’t have one yet (neither of us cooked a lot pre-covid) so I used this as the justification for that. Now I use it for the baby food as well as pizza dough, salsas and all kinds of stuff.
Yes for the first. Not a chance in hell we had time for our second. I mean we still made some but not near as much. We got those molds for freezing them too.
Yea I just used the big ice cube molds for whiskey glasses. They hold a little more than three oz so we used those to freeze the food. Works great.
Made some dirty rice for dinner and Jr saw me put cayenne on mine and flat out refused to eat his unless I put some on there. “I like spicy food dad!!” So like a moron I put a dash on his. He ate one bite and now refuses to eat it even after I got him a fresh plate. Bonus, I have now eaten two servings of dirty rice. The lesson as always, kids are filthy little liars.
I believe it was I that recommended that to you.
Oldest starts 3rd grade tomorrow. Youngest starts preschool. This is not getting easier.
Today my kid told her grandma she went to the park with a daycare friend and went down the slide. She did none of those things this weekend.
I'm here with you.
Idk what the fufk to do. Trying to redirect, not always pick him up, get dowm on his level and try to talk to him.
It's fucking terrible
Bunch of lies!
Same. First kid got nearly all homemade food and since then it's been like lol sry you get whatever slop we found at the grocery store during a temper tantrum.
Kids turn you into a baby back bitch and it doesn't ever go away
I've cried at commercials on t.v. Don't think I had ever done that before my first was born.
My kid started giving his stuffed giraffe and one of our dogs hugs the other day and I almost lost it.
Then he slapped a spoonful of beans into my face while I was trying to feed him and the sniffles went away.
Moved my oldest into his dorm apartment last Friday, his first time living away from us. Wife and I immediately spent the weekend deep cleaning his bedroom and bathroom for our own use
My wife let the kid pick out a new book. She picked a Llama Llama book.
it arrived tonight and we showed her the new book. Kid proceeded to just read the story out loud because she apparently has it at daycare and wanted a copy for home
Also this is great
Younger one came home from school sick on Friday (not Covid). I got it yesterday and holy fuck I forgot how much being sick sucks. Granted I’m a pussy, but a sore throat, stuffy nose, and pounding headache have pretty much rendered me useless the last 24 hours.
Tylenol Cold and Sinus Severe medicine worked great when I had those exact same symptoms a while back.
Symptoms of being a pussy or of being sick?
I am the worst sick person. 100% pussy. There is no medicine to fix that.
Levi has been playing with the bottles of Ozarka water today. Well, I was sitting in my chair and he ran up and slammed the bottle squarely down on my right nut, direct hit. You know the kind I’m talking about. The kind that makes you run to the bathroom.
In related news, I am posting this while taking a shit.
You sure that's not Covid? My wife (vaccinated) had those same symptoms 2 weeks ago and in turned out to be Covid.
Three negative binax tests…one for me, two for my younger one. The chances of three false negatives is like .2%. (I think my math is right.)
