Don't forget Naked Gun
Looking for a nanny till a spot opens up in daycare. One applicant sounded great, setup a call. Found her Facebook. One of her most recent posts was a book titled “Mommy why don’t we celebrate Halloween”. Followed by a litany of anti-vax stuff. Anddd phone call cancelled.
Teething and sleep regression at the same time? Fuck my life currently.
Mine had a bit of regression. She used to sleep from 6-6. But now she’s waking up at 4 which is okay as I’m up then but I have been having to go into work late (it doesn’t really matter) to let her sleep back in some. Throws off my whole morning.
Yea we are dealing with the same thing. He normally sleeps until 6 as well but the last two weeks has been waking up around 2 or 3 for an hour or so. We think it’s teething but it’s a giant pain in the ass.
Same. Teething prob but we’ve been in such a good routine for 10 months so we’re having to re adjust. She’s back asleep now. I don’t have a set time to get to my office but I like getting there at 8. I used to go to the gym before work so now I’m having to go at lunch. But I guess parenthood and marriage is all about making adjustments so we carry on.
Why the fuck do toddlers get fixated on the same 3 episodes of a show? Like she pitches a fit if I suggest we watch another one.
We just recently got into paw patrol. I set up a recording on yttv. Theres like 800 episodes. Every day “I want the one with the cool dog” :|
Now that we know the gender we made our first shopping trip and we’re able to actually buy clothes and things like that. We spent way too much money, but it comes no where close to my mother in law
I shudder to think of how much paw patrol I have viewed in the last 4 or 5 years
I'm glad my oldest is to the point of watching kids shows that I can tolerate and even enjoy. My 6-yr old is super in to Beyblades right now though. It's a fun little toy, but ho-lee-crap what a stupid show. I'd rather watch Paw Patrol.
Kid is getting tubes in his ears on Thrusday. Fucking 2 grand. I'm not sure how the "average" American family affords to have children.
Outside of my son’s Axel, Blippi, Ryan phase he hasn’t been too bad. He likes variety. He’s 5 now and really likes Scooby Doo and Wild Kratts.
I can't remember how much it was for our daughter, but I don't think it was quite that high. Feels like decades ago now.
we watch the same 3 episodes of blippi on a loop
"i wanna watch indoor playground"
I despise Ryan. As bad as watching other kids play with toys is…
Bluey is the most adult friendly kids show I have seen.
The original TMNT is on YouTube and holds up relatively well. I like it because it encourages my toddler to do violent ninja stuff and adopt catch phrases
We’re lucky in that we have a bunch of friends with baby stuff. Most of them have boys, and we’re having a girl, but oh well! Free is free!
aquarium, ice cream truck and diamondbacks game
So my son last night looks at me, and pops his thumb in his mouth and starts sucking. Hes almost 16 months. Anyone dealing with that? No idea what to do.
Parent of the Year Award story incoming.
We are 9 hours into a 10 hour drive home from Big Bend National Park today when Levi is finally done. Wife hands him the entire bag of toys to try to calm him. We realize that it worked really well. Then I see him reaching into a snack cup and eating french fries and chicken nuggets.
Slight problem, last time we got that was at McDonalds on Friday on the way down to the park. We had thought we lost a snack cup over the weekend. Turns out, it was in his toy bag that had not been busted out since the drive down.
Time to see how his stomach can handle 3 day old sitting in a truck nuggets. If there is a silver lining, the food was from McDonalds so that shit is probably just as edible in a year as it is the day it is bought.
He’ll be fine IMO
Yesterday I threw on one of the newer episodes of Blippi and after about a minute my 2 year old finally realizes it's a different guy
My son is big into cats. We'll take him to the zoo and he just wants to see the lions, tigers, etc but his favorite is the sand cat lol. He's figured out the Xbox controller controls Disney+, which he will bring to us and he will only watch 1 of 3 movies
The live action Jungle Book
Live action Lion King
The documentary African Cats
How does he feel about Andres Galarraga?
When I took my son to his first baseball game he was very confused
“When do we get to go on the field”
“Where is the kitty (diamondbacks mascot)”
They replaced Blippi or its a spinoff? Is it due to his scat sex stuff? My son has outgrown that phase so Im not going to go back but funny they would replace him but makes sense because the show was a cash cow.
My son at that same time loved Ryan's Toy Review. Ryan's family was making (is making) $10m or so a year. I think he was the highest paid youtube personality in 2019.
Archibald on Netflix is the new show on repeat.
Our dog is named Bowie or "Bo Bo". Every time my son sees any dog he just yells "Bo Bo" points and starts running towards the dog
I'll ask him but he's a Phillies fan
Complete guess on my end but he’s been doing the character for a bit and is also “owned” by the same group who owns cocomelon. Maybe he got a payday and wanted to take a break
As the thread’s Blippi OG…
Blips got too big too fast and couldn’t do everything himself. He folded in a second actor, caught a ton of shit, weathered the storm, and is now raking in even more $$$ than before. Original Blippi videos still lap the other guy, but the die is cast and they are sticking with it.
The imposter Blippi was wheeled out for the live shows a few years back and shit hit the fan. I think the tour was cancelled and refunds were given due to the fallout.
The dude went from shit pranks to $50 million/10 billion views in like 5 years. My kids have moved on, but I have respect for that hustle and thought it was mostly good content.
Thank you Blippi Loremaster
Blippster, too easy.
I read into the live show fiasco and iirc it was never stated the real blippi would be there. It also might not have said that he wouldn’t be there either. Idk but I feel like last time I read about it it wasn’t as deceptive as I initially thought.
and yeah he’s totally kicking back raking it in. Anyone who is mad at his success is pbnjealous.
Hey my kid kinda likes Blippi (hes 2) and that show is better then most I kinda like the ones where he tours the airplanes, helicopters, etc
my oldest son started sucking his finger at 14 months. He is now almost 3 and still does it to go to sleep. We tried everything. Good luck.
Blippi’s fiancé (now pregnant apparently) has dem thangs. Dude won the game of life.
There's a photo on her IG of her dressed as Blippi for Halloween and the first comment is from the official Blippi account saying "I approve of this"
Blippi is obnoxious and strange but overall seems wholesome and educational enough to make him tolerable. If your kid goes through an Axel phase you will yearn for more Blippi.
also the poop thing is fucking weird but the internet was a different place ten years ago.
Our daughter was so young/tiny when she got tubes that the doctor was willing to do it in the office visit without putting her under. It was tough to watch but doing it that way saved those couple thousand bucks.
I dont remember how old I was but my parents used some clear fingernail polish that tasted terrible. They only had to put it on my thumb a short time and I was broke
tried several different kinds and it didn’t deter him at all. We got a couple things to put on his hand/finger too that didn’t work. We eventually just came to grips with the fact he’ll get braces.
my daughter sucks her thumb. she's 2 and a half and does it when she's going to sleep and when she's nervous in social situations. I am not sure how to stop it but I think you're kind of wasting your time trying to get a 16 month old to stop.
Anyone travel with an 18 month old and tried to use some kind of rail bumpers to security their kid in the bed? Not sure if they'd be too low or not.
Waiting hear if our airbnb concierge service has a crib or pack and play available that we can put in the house. If not, I'd like to avoid checking a pack and play if I don't have to.
I bought some inflatable bumpers to set on either side of the child while they sleep in a bed. it worked great for my son when he was a little over two and had to sleep in an airbnb bed.
Yeah, I'm wondering if 18 months is too early. I guess I could test it out at home for a few weeks. Hopefully they have a crib/pack and play for me
Pack and plays are useful to have anyways. at 18 months i would probably opt for that.
we left a pack and play at my mom's house. It's in a big empty walk-in closet and my 2.5 year old daughter will sleep in there for 14+hours. she absolutely loves it in there.
