I’ve been wfh the entire time and not wife is as well. Just found out the daycare is closing as well so going to be interesting.
Fuck My Life. My 5 year old tested positive for Covid tonight. We explained to him that he tested positive and can't go to daycare and he freaked the fuck out. I've never seen the kid so scared. He was all worried that is going to die. It took awhile but we finally got him calmed down. He literally only had a small cough and that was only after he was really rambunctious. My wife and I have both tested negative. This really fucking sucks as I'm scheduled to have surgery Thurs I really need to have. It was so heartbreaking though to see how scared he was. Fuck this all.
Aaaannnnnndddd surgery canceled until further notice. Fuck. My son on the other hand, is loving life now. Little bastard is just playing Mario kart.
1 month out, fellas. don’t plan on taking much of a bag. No clue how long we’ll be there. Plan on a pillow, a fire stick, a book, maybe the switch.
My wife was in labor for like 42 hours and we were in the delivery suite for over 12. Never know how long it will take, bring entertainment.
I am just thinking of the look on my wife's face if I busted out a Nintendo while she's sitting there on the hospital bed with an epidural in
We were admitted at 8:30 pm and he arrived at 12:10 am. Wife pushed for about an hour. All we heard leading up to the birth was “the first one is usually stubborn” “the first one is usually late, they take their time yada yada yada”. Bring -a good sound machine -pajamas for both of you - house shoes/slippers - decent pillows - good water bottle with straw - extra long charging cable and cubes - portfolio to keep all your paper work - if you’re breast feeding one of these
Anyone have any kids cartoons they actually like? Cocomelon was terrible, but we've been binge watching the fuck out of Shaun the Sheep. I actually enjoy it. It's dumb, but funny & my 18mo old love it.
The show is for the kid not you. My wife hates it as well but his words have taken off since watching it. It is a very good kids show on so many levels. The visual colors and contrasts. The repetition of words and sentences. The follow along word scroll. It is a teaching machine that needs expanded upon with many more seasons. But to answer the question, PJ Masks gets a lot of play.
We have this. It is nice. We got it mainly for travel/uber/etc. It's been used 1 time b/c of Covid
I tried my best but could not defeat Cocomelon and Blippi. I can get him to watch video games on occasion, Pixar, and he briefly enjoyed the animated Jurassic Park until it randomly started terrifying him, but the intermissions are always short-lived. Maybe this is terrible, but we put Cocomelon or Blippi on an Amazon kids tablet and let him sit at his desk eating snacks for a reasonable amount of time daily while we watch whatever we want on the actual TV. It’s mostly a winter crutch. Not being able to go outside in the evenings sucks
We rotate a lot of the classics on Disney plus. Frozen, Moana, Lady and the Tramp, Aristocats, 100 dalmations, lion king, pocahontas etc. It's hard to find something for my almost 3 and 5 year old to agree on, but the disney classics is our best chance. as far as shows go. my 5 year old son still loves Blaze and Paw Patrol. I rarely watch any of them and just goof off on my phone when they are having screen time.
most of the pbs cartoons are tolerable and no commercials which helps. I find donkey hodie oddly amusing
Paw Patrol, Beat Bugs, Curious George (on Hulu), and Trash Truck are the go to cartoons at the moment.
If no one else will say it, I will. The teacher on Cocomelon is a partier. Teaches kids all day, does yoga, wears yoga pants. Very likely a woo-girl.
4 year old likes Pinkalicious, Let's Go Luna, and Clifford. We have the first two seasons of Dora on Amazon Prime and she's also watched the shit out of that.
I was going to say that as well but thought if I commented on both, I would be judged for having a fetish of sorts.
pj masks is pretty good. more for toddler age but talking time on YouTube is really good for speech development as the woman shows you how to make the sounds with your mouth, our kids sit there transfixed watching it too
My daughter fucking loves Peppa Pig...it's funny when she randomly uses some British word due to watching the show. It was her 3rd birthday yesterday and this was the cake we got her....
Appreciate this suggestion. I am now wondering who enjoys this show more, my son, or my wife. She loves it. He is a pretty big fan as well.
My 5 year old likes different Lego shows. Right now Lego ninjago is up there. On Netflix check out Go Dog Go. Both 5 and 2 year old love it. Super colorful and is also a cartoon showcase if you have a 4K TV. transformers rescue bots also a hit (Netflix) we had to stop cocomelon. Toddler was a damn zombie with that on. Couldn’t take it.
He’s my idol. I tend to be like that and my wife always complains that I’m too much and gets bothered that I wake up busting at the seems with energy. Prob why my daughter loves me more though.
