You should go to giacomos. Consistently on Alison cooks top 100 restaurants and deservedly so. And it’s pretty inexpensive relatively speaking
And thanks, i'll definitely add it to the list ;) So weird that I still have never been, will suggest it for a future monthly lunch with HS crew, especially since we're now trying some new places again (for much of the pandemic and thereafter we were just going to Pit Room due to them having a big patio next door when social distancing outdoors was a plus, as well as it always being pretty good and a solid location for most). We ended up trying Mico's on Durham and i would say that everyone was satisfied with it ;)
There’s also a Houston Classifieds Reddit Charles DeMar. Randomly just saw someone posted tickets today for something else.
I might know a person who works at warehouse who might be able to help. I’ll check in with them this weekend.
Please do if you don't mind, thanks! But not a huge deal if not, i didn't get my hopes up after looking into things more via the reddit thread that Tex shared
I'm an old man so always enjoy Avalon with my dad ;) But girflriend has spoken highly of The Rustic's brunch (over off Post Oak near Galleria), although i have yet to see it mentioned in the top 30 brunch results on Yelp, so who knows?!? :)
They do have a pretty good brunch (I've only been to the one downtown though). They do a family style serving of a bunch of different shit, but you better be hungry if you go that direction
Only been to the Galleria location but it was legit. I liked how it’s half open/half closed but open if that makes sense.
Turns out I do know someone who knows the head of security. Apparently they give the staff tickets to the venue that they sell for face value. I’ll keep you updated but it looks like you won’t have to spend an arm and leg. I’m assuming three tickets? I’ll keep you updated.
That’d be amazing, but also won’t say anything to girlfriend’s daughter yet, so no pressure. I simply appreciate you actually looking into it.
I want them but the wife is not feeling well. I saw him at Bonnaroo a few years back. Man puts on a great show. Nice of you to offer here.
Hey Tex, any idea what they're doing with the Velvet Melvin (assuming you still live in that area)? I see that it finally closed somewhat recently, no idea how it held on for so long...
I do basically live across the street from it. Word on the street is a Mediterranean restaurant near by bought it so it might be turned into something similar. No one seems to know for sure. That’s the gossip at the cellar anyways.
Small update on this. I saw today they are putting in those big warehouse style windows in the front so it basically just looks like windows from top to bottom and all the way across. Doesn’t seem like a restaurant. I wouldn’t mind another bar.
Yeah, I briefly saw those windows on my way to pick up my kids after work and they’re working quick today, all those windows weren’t there yet this morning when I initially asked you about it
Have any of y'all been to a show at the 713 Hall/Post yet? My GF got tickets to Amy Schumer on Friday night and I'm trying to find decent parking options if any of you have suggestions. My old man will be babysitting my kids and it's easiest/most convenient for us that I drive to this one. Thanks in advance.
Been to a few shows but I've always walked or rode metro. They have a pretty large surface lot on their premises, have you looked into that?
Thanks, i would certainly prefer to Uber, but for timing purposes and other circumstances, driving is my best option for this one. And, for future reference for any of y'all, i found via the post's site that you can book parking in advance at nearby parking garages https://widget.arrive.com/index.htm...nue-id=490509&utm-term=Widget_Web_ParkingPage
Speaking of parking - Has anyone regularly parked at the parking garage near Clarkwood off of Waugh? Parking at that bar is horrendous. I've parked in the garage nearby a handful of times but I don't want to get towed.
