and anyone who said he was clearly gone was told they needed an MD/PhD in geriatric psychiatry to say that
I get why the Democrats left him in office (if Kamala Harris took over, she'd immediately inherit Biden's fucked up Israel Uber Alles policy -- not that I expect her to change much, but at least maybe she'll clear out State if she manages to win), but the downside of keeping him in is they can't attack Trump's mental fitness. Like, how do you effectively attack Trump's brain worms and overall fitness for office when your team has a guy who has clear signs of dementia carrying around the nuclear football?
Do you expect me to summarize the entire history of Israel / Lebanon in a response? I mean, Israel has been sporadically bombing South Lebanon and Syria for decades. You know goddamn well Hezbollah signaled multiple times last fall that they wanted to avoid a direct conflict with Israel and were willing to negotiate, and that the current regional aggressor is Israel. Did Israel need to pager attack Hezbollah? No. Did they need to invade South Lebanon? No. Do they need to plow more bombs into helpless civilians in Gaza? No. Do they need to bomb the West Bank, terrorize the civilians living there, and chase them from their homes? No. Does the current US administration want them to widen the war in Lebanon? Well, certain members of the NSC and probably State do, but I'm guessing Biden does not and the Kamala Harris campaign definitely does not. Does France or the UK want Israel to invade Lebanon? No. Does the Trump camp want Israel to invade Lebanon? Probably helps them in the short term because it pulls voters from Biden, but we'll see once he takes office again. Is peace possible in the Middle East? No idea, but I don't think a continuous long and bloody conflict in which hundreds of thousands of additional civilians are wasted is in the best interests of anyone besides maybe Israel's fascist government (and settlers), and hardliners in Iran, Saudi, Turkey, etc. Long term, every country in that region with an interest in containing Israeli expansion will choose to build nukes. So the end result will be a regional nuclear arms race. That's guaranteed to happen.
you don’t need to summarize the entire history of Israel and Lebanon. You can start in 2006 when Hezbollah had a ceasefire and a UN resolution requiring them to pull back and disarm (they didn’t do either). Israel has not been bombing Lebanon since then. On October 8, 2023 Hezbollah started firing rockets into Israel. Somehow your mental gymnastics make Israel the aggressor. Hezbollah at any time could have stopped firing rockets into Israel. The idea they simply want peace is just patently false. If they wanted a ceasefire they could have simply ceased firing. Israel waited a long time to respond in force and when air strikes didn’t make Hezbollah stop attacking they turned to a land invasion. You do nothing but excuse make for jihadi facists that openly state their goal of killing Jews (and frankly any non-Shia Muslim) and destroying the state of Israel. Iran has proxy armies that have destroyed Yemen, Lebanon, and Gaza. They’ve turned Syria into an absolute bloodbath. They funded a civil war in Iraq and are currently trying to undermine the Jordanian government but somehow everything is Israel’s fault. I’ll ask you again, if Israel is always the aggressor why have they not dropped a single bomb on Egypt or Jordan. The answer is because those countries signed a peace treaty and acknowledged their right to exist and have not attacked them. The only time Israel’s borders have ever expanded has been on the back of a defensive war and even in victory they’ve been willing to trade land for peace.
I would lean toward yes but Israel isn’t a one party state so the definition doesn’t fit perfectly. Like he doesn’t suppress the Israeli left. If his coalition fell apart, he’d be removed as prime minister. The next time Israel holds elections it wouldn’t shock me if he’s out.
dude had one speed bump in a 15 year reich but the Israelis who are rioting for the right to rape will definitely be done with him now
yeah, Likud isn't going anywhere, and even if they lose majority or Beebs has a stroke or something, they'll be replaced by someone even worse. 6 months ago, I had some hope that there were enough sane people in Israel to pull them out of where they're headed, but man, now? Not so much. Who knows how far they'll go? Bailed on a meeting at the Pentagon today -- that's a big deal. They're about to strike Iran - how and with what - not sure, but never a good sign when they more or less tell the leader of the United States to get fucked.
20% spike in crude prices after the wreck Iranian oil fields, and a similar one when Iran retaliates regionally... cool.
The israeli government also dosed ethiopian jewish refugees with birth control in secret for years and then was like "uhhh my bad"
Israel shooting at the people they tell to evacuate as they evacuate. Juat typical war for the bigoted piece of shit in this thread. He wishes he could go over there and shoot them too.
Really awful footage from this. Israel funneling civilians down streets and then just turkey shooting them. Children. Gunning them down.
The peacekeeping soldiers representing the organization that facilitated Israel’s legitimacy are all obviously Hamas.
And once again, they will face no consequences and will have people like our resident bigot cheering them on.
Illini probably jorkin' it furiously to some of these videos of patients still hooked up to IVs burning alive...
Israel didn't want the Christian areas of Lebanon to feel left out -- plenty of US supplied bombs for them too
Not going to do much but this finally is the most direct I've seen her criticize Biden. It's getting reallllly bad out there.
the implosion that's going to happen when the Democrats lose this election, in part because they fully supported a genocidal war that's killed what? 200,000 people already -- could easily destroy the party. Mind you, Trump will probably be putting the entire Democratic Party into a labor camp, so it won't matter, but the party is going to destroy itself over this insane war. The Israelis firebombing hospital patients is only a small part of what's going on. No food, no medicine is getting into northern Gaza right now. The survivors of the bombing last night are dying in agony right now because there's no anesthesia for their burns or for surgery. Oh, and Haaretz article from yesterday basically stated that the ruling party is done trying to negotiate for hostages (or even caring if they get slaughtered by their own army), and is intent on annexing the majority of (if not all of) Gaza. Haaretz article here: https://archive.vn/YrDLa So basically our favorite Hasbara account who posts to this thread is full of shit.
So this guest essay was on the horrors of innocent Palestinian people, in which ppl criticized them? WTF
yeah, basically saying the doctors - who were over in Gaza operating on kids, and wrote an essay saying Israel was deliberately shooting Palestinian children - are liars.
wonder if we dropped a MOP ordinance or just some generic bunker busters either way using the B2 is sending a message to Iran
Yeah I don't know anything about anything and this popped up on my Google news feed but I took home the same message
those things weigh like 15 tons man. I can’t imagine how scary it would be to see one detonate near you
Thats a trick question. Its always been the right hospital because killing the sick injured women and children is part of their plan
Israel just stays lying, even when they don't have to. IDF- Yea we don't know he died Coroner - Dawg he's got a bullet in his brain IDF - Israeli chief pathologist tells CNN Sinwar killed by bullet to the head The chief pathologist who autopsied the body of Yahya Sinwar told CNN that the Hamas leader was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. Dr. Chen Kugel, the chief pathologist at Israel’s National Center of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv, said that while Sinwar suffered other serious injuries — including from a tank shell or missile — he was confident a bullet to the head was what had killed the Hamas leader. The Israeli military previously said that Sinwar was killed after a tank fired a shell into the building in which he had already been wounded and had not said anything about its troops firing a fatal gunshot. “The cause of death is (a) gunshot wound in the head. He has a bullet in his head and there’s a severe traumatic brain injury,” Kugel, who signed Sinwar’s death certificate, told CNN in an interview. Asked for comment about Kugel’s findings, an IDF spokesperson told CNN that there was an exchange of gunfire and that the combat ended with the Israeli military firing a tank shell at the building. The Israeli military is still working to learn all of the details of the event, the spokesperson said. Kugel said he is confident in his analysis, which was based on examining Sinwar’s body. He only learned of the Israeli military’s account of Sinwar’s death after conducting the autopsy. “It is based on what I found on the body,” Kugel said. “He has injury from other sources, like a missile injury in his right forearm, fallen masonry on his left leg, or thigh, and many shrapnels that entered his body, but only in the chest. They caused the severe damage, but the cause of death is the gunshot wound in the head.”
I mean that's a stretch to say that was a lie. Incomplete/inaccurate reporting is common, if not expected, in the midst of something like that. They lie about a lot, but I don't see that as one. Or even why they would.
