No idea if this is accurate, but the guaranteed cash portion of this contract makes him only the 17th highest paid OT in the NFL. Huge upfront signing bonus, biggest ever, but assuming he plays this is a very good deal. https://www.cincyjungle.com/platfor...rlando-brown-jr-contract-2023-nfl-free-agents
it’s basically the bengals saying we believe in you enough to pay you top end money for one year, which is appropriate given the up and down nature of his play the last couple years
That one's going to be interesting. Especially with Mixon still there, which, a week ago seemed improbable. It's likely still improbable, but while having a premier RB isn't a need, they kind of need to at least have capable bodies on the roster. It's a good year for RBs in the draft, but at this point the early picks may still ne needed at TE and Safety. Regardless, movement at RB is obviously coming, whatever it means.
Not really talking about what he’s worth on the trade market, but if we can free up that money we can sign someone else
Looks like the Titans may be making Kevin Byard a cap casualty...hopefully Tobin at least puts a call in
Foster Moreau Dalton Schultz Nick Scott Taylor Rapp Kevin Byard Chauncey Gardner-Johnson Just get a name or two off that list, whatever random running back, and get a decent return for Jonah. That’s all I really want at this point.
Money is going to the offense boys. Defense will be filled via the draft and mid tier fa's moving forward.
Yeah I'm really shaking in my boots at the thought of an overrated 30 year old wr coming off two blown knees being paired up with a qb who can't throw. The media are such morons.
My thoughts: Tough to get excited about a first round pick with what was available I guess. Nolan Smith and Mayer were probably the only two that get some juices flowing and Smith probably doesn't even fit our scheme. Mayer would be nice but if our 3 WRs are healthy it's not like he's going to get the ball a lot. I guess he'd be good in the red zone but we were already #7 in red zone TD%. Not to mention our OL should hopefully take a big step forward, smart to invest in the defense. Just hope we picked the right guy.
Nolan Smith was never an option for them. Numerous outlets have said as much. They just wouldn't take a guy that size in the first round. A 235-pound edge in a 4-3? Makes no sense.
Mayer would have been the sexy pick but I don't think he does anything special enough for us to take him with our first. Hendrickson and Hubbard have both been banged up the last few years and besides Ossai there isn't any DE depth. It's a deep TE draft and I don't think the dropoff between Mayer and Laporta or Washington in terms of overall talent is much at all. Trust Lou and co to unlock Murphy
Smith didn’t fit the scheme and we can get a te later. Wouldn’t have hated Porter but I also never complain about improving the pass rush. We were bottom of the league in sacks last year.
he’s the perfect guy to have a relatively quiet college career and be an absolute beast of a pro. has everything you want in a franchise end. Never was as dominant as he should have been here.
