Swiping the leaderboard off the screen has helped me on that. My cool down rides were not cool downs
I’ve gotten rid of leaderboard and timer. That has seemed to make the rides faster.
I guess me acknowledging that I might sound like a dick and answering his questions in my next post confused me on what rv12 meant but my bad ned's head
I took no offense. There's probably an actual term for what I was looking for but I think I have some direction now
Peloton rolling out new classes tomorrow. Looks like shadow boxing.
Had oral surgery last Thursday and haven’t able to workout since (other than light yoga and walking) feel like complete shit. Hopefully I’ll be able to do something tomorrow.
New fetish is German cool down rides. Instructors say something funny and laugh, and I just sit there not smiling/laughing since I don't read the captioning. Adds a little awkwardness cool down rides have always been missing.
Ben played The Jam on a ride, he's in my Hall of Fame now.
Hopefully they incorporate a bag at some point
After more than 2 years, finally beat my 45 minute PR. Only took me 58:56 to do it.
I am enjoying the boxing classes.
lol I too would rather die than take another Jess King ride
Them thangs thou
Apparently she played a Spanish instructor on the show so maybe she would be less annoying as that character.
Yeah she's fun to look at it tough to do longer rides with her. Her voice is kinda annoying too. But I still put her above Ally.
Worst week of working out in about 3-4 years. Oral surgery and the shingles vaccine have kicked my ass. Hopefully I’ll get back soon.
Booster doing the same to me. I’m really looking forward to doing Kendall’s Queen ride this weekend though
took my bulldog for a 30 minute walk and instantly regretted it. Halfway through I didn’t think I’d make it home. Luckily for me he walks at a 45 minute a mile pace lol.
Woke up feeling better so like I always do instead of waiting to recover I jumped on the bike and took Kendall’s Queen ride and while she didn’t play my favorite song Crazy Little Thing Called Love she did have a wardrobe malfunction so there is that.
Was gonna do an afternoon ride but my power is currently out. So I’ll use this time to share that for some weird reason the phrase “belly button into spine” really bothers me during core workouts. I feel like there has to be a better instruction to give
LOL. That’s the smartest thing PTON management has done in months.
Are there ever sales/is it better to wait until after Christmas to buy one?
what are you looking at? The original is at a really good price right now I don’t think it will go any lower. The sales aren’t really sales they are more of a discount on accessories. The pluses aren’t going on sale any time soon. So honestly it’s when you want to get it
What are differences between + and original and is + worth it
Apple watch integration
A monitor that moves so you can do ground work easier
Automatically adjust the resistance
imo it was close before but with the discount on the Bike now: no
Also, don't forget to get a referral if you buy
Nvm saw online
The instructor will say "Increase your resistance 3 points" and you'll reach down between your knees and do a little twist on the red knob a quarter turn
On-screen it will tell you what you're at and the range you should be in
This was the reason I considered getting the + but having had it for six months, adjusting it myself is less annoying than I thought it would be and sometimes even a nice little motivator
In regards to Apple Watch integration, I did see this post on Reddit. It’s just a rumor, but they may release an update soon that will allow Watch integration for original bike users.
The sound is supposed to be way better too on the +
to me it’s not worth it.
slightly larger screen that you can swivel. Apple Watch connection. The ability to automatically change resistance to what instructor calls out. Better speakers. The coolest thing is the screen but you can buy a attachment for like $60 that will let you swivel the screen. The price difference is too big imo to justify upgrade to the plus. That said if I was buying one today I’d probably go for the plus.
the issue with me is you’re above the numbers they are calling it will bring you down to their numbers and you’ll have to adjust manually anyway. The swivel screen is the coolest part of the plus but I was able to modify mine for $60z
I only use headphones so this wasn’t a big deal to me.
devine if you have a showroom near you go check them out in person see if you can sign up for a couple classes on each and see which you like more . I have had mine for 4 years and I love it. Also I always suggest people download the peloton app so you can see all the other types of workouts or has. It’s more than worth it if you use it. The interactive aspect makes it feel like you’re not working out alone imo
Get the +. The original is garbage. After only 47 months and 33,957 minutes of a 200 lb man thrashing the bike around, I had to tighten 3 of the 4 screws on my drinkholders tonight after one screw finally worked it's way completely out and fell on the floor almost costing me a my drink. Is quality dead?
As BP noted, the sound is pure trash on the original if you're not wearing headphones. I prefer headphones either way, so not a downside for me.
On an audio note: I did get the Aeropex Aftershokz bone conduction headphones recently. Sound quality, functionality, pairing were all fine. Main downside is the over the ear loop blocks some prime sweat wiping area with the towel. On long rides (I ride mostly 45s and 60s), I have to take them off once to allow full towel access to sweat near the ears. That said, happy with them, would buy again if they prove durable. They better be really, really waterproof.
May not be a big deal to some but Doesn't that attachment void the warranty? IDK if you can remove it after it's installed tho.
idk if it does but it’s really easy to install and remove. It doesn’t alter the bike at all. It’s just a attachment that pivots. You don’t drill or anything.
Hopefully I can beat it next year. Too 10% of cycling members is pretty cool.
It said I was top 10% of running members and I only did like 500 miles on the tread, so I’m not sure how accurate that is.
IDK but Ive done 3400 miles and almost 200 hours. I beat my numbers from last year so that’s cool.
Shit Peloton year for me with less than 1400 miles in 2021. Good news is 630 miles in the last eight weeks. Probably rode mountain bike 750ish miles in 2021.
Top 10 percent of cycling, lfg
These stacking stuffers are great
god bless Kendall's pop punk rides.
also, I like Tunde and do her rides a lot. But no one forgets/misstates more details and #s wrong during their rides than her.
Yeah I find all of her dancing distracting too. Like she’s too busy moving all over the place to cue cadence and resistance changes. Really throws off the ride for me, as I’m locked in on the metrics during the ride because it helps me to faster. I appreciate her energy and it makes me work harder but it takes away from the workout. I’ve been finding myself avoiding her more of late because of it.
Did Robin's TSwift ride and she is just so insufferable. Kept talking about how great the music is then never shut the fuck up so you couldn't hear it. Don't think I'll ever take another class of hers.
ya, she does a weird thing where she closes her eyes and like zens / vibes out and throws her arms up. Her rides are much better when she is more focused on the intensity of the ride
