I think he's talking about when you use the Peloton app or connect your watch to Bike+. Once connected and permissions are set up, it uses your heart rate to measure calories lost as opposed to their generic formula that they show on the Bike without some kind of heart rate monitor.
That’s not really what I’m concerned with. I just don’t want my calories counted twice. Because I use the Apple workout to track calories for all of my other exercise programs, I’d like to keep it consistent. I would rather undercount my calories with Apple than overinflate them with Peloton .
You could also change the permissions that Peloton has with your Health app. If you just wanted it to keep track of the workout time or something, you can do that in your settings.
I’m trying to remember what I did because I think I was having this issue. It’s pretty much what rv12 said. Set up the permissions in the health app so that peloton will not write heart rate data. You can still have it read and share other data though. I think.
FightNirish1988 thanks for this month. I’m still debating if I should ride today. After 14 days straight idk if I have the desire to ride maybe a recovery ride before a couple days off. Anyway I wanted to thank you for the motivation I did more than I thought I could. I set multiple PR after being stagnant for a long time. Hope you enjoyed it too.
Likewise man. Set off to possibly hit 450 miles and ended with 706. Crazy how much better I feel after this month compared to previous, def changed my workout approach going forward. Start resting up for a rematch
I started thinking 700 would be nuts and ended at 855. Was planning to do Emma’s live hiit and hills ride but fuck that. I will have a couple new classes to do on Tuesday if I can stay off the bike that long. It’s amazing how good I feel and now I know 400- 500 is extremely doable every month.
Fell just short of my July 300 mile goal, but the days I didn’t ride I was on vacation or exercised in a different way. Maybe I’ll get it in august
Where can I get a list of bros to ride/compete with? Avoided the craze during covid but my partner and I pulled the trigger on the rental program on the Bike. It’ll be at her house, which I’m only at half the time, when I don’t have my kid, but if I take to it a lot, there’s a good chance I’ll get one, too. Climbing is my primary workout and I jump rope and use a heavy bag as my primary cardio. My legs are definitely my weak spot so I’m hyped to get something that works them so extensively.
My doctor has confirmed I’m fat and need to exercise more. Haven’t been on my bike in about 2 months. Think I’m gonna start to ride at 0600 before work going forward.
There’s a #tmb that you can add/view members that way. Or you can post your user name and people can go add you
It was a nice ride while it lasted. Hopefully they have a large enough on demand library to keep it going for a while.
Feels like they definitely tried to do too much. The treadmill probably needs to go, too; I’m not sure their brand carries the weight in that market. Should be noted I’m certain they scaled up massively during covid.
I’d love to have the tread. Little on the higher end price wise. But i wouldn’t have room for it. But yeah they really fucked up. Had tons of problems scaling up during COVID and didn’t anticipate the draw down. They must make quite a bit on their apparel. I’m always getting emails about new merch.
It's shitty what's happened to Kendall's pop punk rides. They were the best thing on the platform for a while when she would just play 30 mins of classics that I knew every word to. I don't know if she's just run out of songs in the genre she knows or if some sort of Spotify / Kardashian / MGK / Record Label money started tainting these things but now every pop punk ride is like 3 good songs, 2-3 MGK songs, 2-3 new songs that stink, and like 1-2 not even pop punk songs
Are they more comfortable than these? We tried the standard ones on in the store and opted for the Altos because they’re drastically more comfortable. The Nikes are like 1/3 the price of the Altos though so if they’re comfortable, I’ll gladly make the switch.
I know they had another music related lawsuit filed against them a few months back. Not sure what it affected tho.
I’ve only tried the regular ones and the Nike ones and the Nike ones are a lot better. Not to mention they usually go on sale and I just picked up a pair for $50. Depending on your size they are currently $60 a week or two ago when I grabbed them they had an extra 20% off.
Are these what you’re referring to? It looks like you can install any cleat, just want to make sure they’d work https://www.nike.com/t/superrep-cycle-mens-indoor-cycling-shoes-bsXw1J/CW2191-100
yes those are the ones I have. Currently using the black ones. Bought the other two because they were cheap and I know I’ll need them.
I know the narrow seat is standard protocol for cycling but it’s awful. Just swapped it for a $30 joint from Amazon and it’s so nice.
I could put the original back on with no evidence of the change. It’s just like changing any bike seat.
Anybody having an issue where rides or classes you’ve previously taken are no longer showing up as taken? I talked to support and it’s a known issue. I did a couple different resets and nothing worked. Minor inconvenience but would be nice to have my check marks back.
Noticed that today and assumed it was an update gone wrong. Hopefully it gets fixed soon because I agree it’s annoying
