I've probably posted this already. But I don't give a damn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG0K3IOsIQc
Good stuff man. As for the "," I was just being a dick. I love most types of punk, I've posted probably most of the bands I listen to in this thread. I'm not metal fan, but thanks for posting itt. No one ever wants to fucking talk to us it seems
I feel like my tastes in music doesn't quite align with the Punx brand, its more of a hardcore thing. I still post but can't really click with everyone else like how you and taq do together.
I like this thread. I don't know where everyone else is at. Probably in their Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Drake threads.
If you are seriously a black punk/hardcore fan that probably puts you in my top ten posters list automatically
Alright so I'm having a hard time falling asleep...anyone has some bands to recommend listening to? I'm a big fan of the 90s punk (Millencolin, NoFX, Pennywise, etc) but I like smoother stuff (Streetlight Manifesto, Menzingers, Gaslight, etc.) as well as some hardcore (Comeback kid, Wisdom in Chains, Gallows, etc.). I like old school metal like Judas Priest, Motorhead as well so I'm pretty open but I need some new bands to listen to.
Not punk "per se" but still good. And the person who chose this video with this song was a genius. Good editing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmXkd-4CXkU
Not sure if this has been posted, new song from Propagandhi http://lambgoat.com/features/37/Propagandhi-Duplicate-Keys-Icaro-An-Interim-Report-song-premiere
this is on the outskirts of the punk genre, but figure some of ya'll may enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMQZzjCyq2Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Great recommendations BhamBammer I havnt listened to anything yet but you had me pegged pretty well, Alkaline Trio is one of my favorite bands and I really like the Bouncing Souls and Bad Religion. I have a hard time defining genres. Most of the time I'm not sure if the bands I am listening to are considered punk or alt or what.
I hate the term "genres" just like a lot of music guys. The term "punk" is SO broad, there are dozens of subgenres (just like any type of music) so I can't really define music by a catagory I guess. For instance, you can easily tell how differently "Dear Friends and Gentle Hearts" by American Steel and "Lineoleum" by NoFX sound. It's all considered punk rock, but not every "punk" fan will like all kinds of punk. The reason this thread is great is because I never got into a ton of folk punk other than Chuck Ragan's solo work and some other stuff, but thanks to Taques and duvalbill I've really gotten more appreciation for different types of punk rock. Keep jamming that music, tell us what you think, bring us some other good music, and POST IN THE DAMN THREAD MORE!
ma3polo i noticed you like metal - do you like "stoner metal"? this year was my first introduction to the genre by way of bands like Torche and Baroness but i dig it. punknews is also going nuts over these two groups http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LayXKzbhtfQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZKPpeuHvJk
Pretty awesome bands. I've never been too heavy into stoner or sludge metal. But they're alright. I like Trash Metal, "Punk-Metal", Doom, Black, stuff like that. And then I like Neo-psychadelia, Post-Punk, Avant-Garde(some of that artsy stuff is alright), Post-Rock. Ya' know, there's a MILLION different sub-genres of Rock N' Roll.
I'm also a fan of Grunge. There was short VH1 documentary arguing if some Grunge bands can be considered Metal, and discussing which Grunge bands are more influenced by Punk. Grunge is essentially a mix between the 2.
so I listened through "cutting our teeth" and it falls neatly into the genre that I enjoy. a little bit of harsh vocals but mostly harmonic. I would classify caraphenelia by pierce the veil as the type of song/music I enjoy. oh btw ptv just put out a new album that's p good if you guys are into that. the headliner song "king for a day" for it has been out for awhile, its good stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icXUkIfZxyg
Anyone listen to the new white wives live ep yet? Listened to a little of the new track cardinal bird and enjoyed it.
The Menzingers are probably my favorite punk band that has formed in the past ten years. I love Gaslight, but the Menzingers appeal to my musical tastes more. Always being on their guest list at their shows helps too
Anyone listen to King Blues? Really diggin their new album, same with Jimmy Cliffs Rebirth. Havent given Matt Skiba and the Sekrets a try yet but will within the next day or two.
I enjoy. I hope you do also: http://youtu.be/MLRHcDo0I38 Songs been out for a couple of years, but still nice. Can I call them boarderline punkabilly?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KdHZ2zAUPc
my friend has actually gotten to go see them half a dozen times or so when they have been in Texas - I've been meaning to check them out so I'll give that a go
Pussy riot getting sentenced was such shit. btw spent the past hour or so listening to minor threat, almost forgot how amazing they were.
im watching the manchester city game and they were playing gaslight over the soundsystem it blows my mind to see how big they have become picking up their sink or swim first pressing is probably my best purchase ever

Went on a short road trip down the the gulf this weekend and I listened to the Menzingers pretty much the entire time. Love that shit. Thanks for the reccomendation BhamBammer .
Has my favorite movie ever, Hated: GG Allin and the Murder Junkies, been discussed in this thread yet? Really? Have you heard about the shit they did? They are scumbags. I don't care what happens to them. They asked for trouble and they got trouble.
