Is there a better place to find discourse on The Rehearsal?
Nathan for You thread on the TV board
I can see how people get addicted to video poker. I don't really like gambling like that but all of the sounds and shit when you win big is total sensory overload
It seems kind of predatory tbh
No better place to post it but watching Hard Knocks, I realized that the St. Brown brothers’ parents are both just named “Brown”
Did they literally just add the “St.” part for their kids? Can’t find anything on google.
Account Name “Engineering Marvels”: How yucky produce is filtered
Gambling is all predatory
It makes sense when the kids are names Osiris, Equinimious and Amon-Ra.
VP is one of the best, least predatory games if you know what you’re doing.
I love slots with bright lights, loud sound, themes, etc. like Wonka and similar. They’re absolutely money pits, but fun.
Omg fuck this
There was an SI article on them I remember reading a few years ago when the Ball fam was popular (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si...imeous-osiris-amonra-st-brown-brothers-family). V weird family dynamic
“With the exception of Equanimeous, a name he plucked from a character in a friend’s novel, the boys’ first and middle names follow a formula: An Egyptian name, a traditional name chosen by Miriam, a second Egyptian name and a “J” for John. (After Miriam delivered Equanimeous, John told her he was also adding a flourish to their surname. “Brown doesn’t look good on the back of a jersey,” he explained. Thus, St. Brown—which John says narrowly edged Von Brown.)”
So he's a nut. Gotcha.
Thank you for being a better googler than me. I also remembered reading that he married his wife for "selective breeding." He does seem like an equally insane - but less annoying - version of Lavar Ball.
Reviewing reports from shitty writers makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
ND recruited all three brothers and I remember thinking their recruitments were surprisingly normal given all these things.
One step closer to Blade Runner 2049
this is really useful for those times when i forget what a hamburger looks like
miss the old days of comedy…
I wish I was high on potenuse
mr iglesias im your biggest fan that was my joke
Yeah TBH their dad seems much more focused on the actual training and sport, whereas Ball was more concerned with fame and getting rich.
Don't know much about them but Amon-Ra seemed pretty normal on Hard Knocks, outside of the cyborg-level competitiveness.
Well that happens when your dad is 2 time Mr. Universe
have I got a career for you
Probably time to trim my plant bowl but I kinda dig the jungle look. It did come at a cost though, as a small orchid I planted got outcompeted and is no longer with us.
Also, do we not have a houseplants thread? I thought Emma started one but maybe I’m misremembering.
Trying to decide if I want to say something to my boss or not tonight. I have a CNA that is a decent worker for the other nurses but is generally a lazy bitch when it comes to my patients and me. I’m usually one to just take care of my own stuff and not engage into a work fight etc. Tonight as I was walking by one of my rooms the patient asked the CNA if I was a nice person. Her response was, “I’ll let you make your own decision on that one.” Which I’m not surprised she feels that way but to say that to a fucking patient is insane. In healthcare you’re always wanting to manage up your co-workers. Which even if I hate a co-worker I’m always saying positive things about them, generic and fake, put positive none-the-less. The CNA in question just lost her mother suddenly and unexpected. But if she’s saying that to one patient she’s more than likely saying that every time it gets asked.
She sounds like a nut
yes we both share location. helps sometimes when out biking/running and want to see how close we are to getting back. and for the safety aspect too in case something f'd up happens
no I don’t but I guess it would honestly depend on the guy. Someone my size probably not a smaller guy yes. We obviously tipped but I felt sexist for feeling bad.
I thought we went over this.
one paragraph too long for that sec education?
Maybe don’t be a dick to your subordinates though?
It's like a far more expensive and less useful version of a menu.
Might be cool and useful if the images weren't clip art.
"This is what the picture on the menu would look like if it were projected onto the tablecloth"
Not sure if this is directed at me, but I’m not really a dick. I don’t engage.
What you talking about?
Don’t engage with her at all? If so, no wonder she doesn’t like you.
Maybe just take a lap bud
Ok? If a person doesn’t engage at all with people that they work with, he/she shouldn’t be surprised when the other person thinks he/she is a dick/asshole. The nurse assistant shouldn’t have made a comment to a patient, but hudson should probably not be an ass to her, either. Both things can be true, bud.
Fuck yes, Saturday morning fireworks!
Nothing in Hudson’s post describes him being a dick, so you’re inferring. It’s also pretty unprofessional for the CNA to have that type of response to a patient. Just a strangely aggressive stance.
You’re right; I am inferring. But if the CNA works well with everyone else except hudson, per his post, it’s a pretty easy jump to make.
I agreed that it was unprofessional for the CNA to tell the patient to make their own call.
I don’t really care either way. Just struck me as odd that it came as a shock that she may not consider him a nice person.
