Just spent a fun 30 minutes outside in -1 windchill making sure there wasn't ice buildup in my pool. This is so goddamn stupid
We lost power briefly, not sure if it was rolling blackout or what. I think it was about ~30 minutes time. We have all new exterior wall & attic insulation. Our house dropped from 72 to 64 degrees in that time. It only took 10 minutes to heat back up when power was restored. If we lose power for any sort of extended time we are so screwed.
Yeah, ours was a rolling blackout for 25 minutes. I was all kitted up to do some deconstruction to the pool, but the freeze protect was still working. I just took a crowbar to the buildup from the sheer descent where the water comes out. This week is going to be absolutely brutal.
1-2 inches on the ground and falling aggressively here. We will see what it looks like when we get some daylight. Also had a shower drain freeze, but toilets and sinks are fine so far *knock on wood*
5 inches of snow where I’m at in hill country. Currently 9 degrees and don’t have power. I lived in Maine for 6 years and I don’t think I ever had this happen
All the fucking ppl commenting on NWS and tv mets social media with that inane bullshit... It drives me nuts
My wife set the AC to 70. I keep it at 71. I’ll have to teach her that the man of the house controls the thermostat.
Rolling blackouts here so the power is off and on. Last one was about 30 mins. It’s 63 inside here. Bundling up the little guy. And have the heater running while we have it.
Nest says it’s currently 67 which is fine If it drops below 63 I’m gonna have to bundle up in my own home
Oh I do too. Florida humidity is starting to get to us. We can’t enjoy the outdoors at all for 9-10 months a year without going to the beach.
We went to Utah a few months back and loved the outdoor activities there. It was September and perfect outside. Maybe one day.
Anyone know how long these rolling blackouts are supposed to last? I have a job to half ass while I play video games
the blackouts just for the burbs or something? don’t think anyone’s lost power in the city that i know
Lost power again, was able to make some coffee this time though my dogs seem nervous and upset not cool
I’m loving the rolling list of school closings on local TV they were already fucking closed today it’s a federal holiday
Another thing you might want to do is throw some towels in your dryer and then when they are good and hot, wrap them over whatever pipes you can get at.
The temperature in fucking San Antonio was 10 degrees when I just checked it. That is absolutely mind blowing.
