I want to put it on the record that I'm a stream watcher and it's never like this. Obviously there were source feed issues for all, but wow. Never seen such a bold streamer just overlaying garbage mid-match.
Injury prone and inconsistent, in no small part due to the first. He was outstanding when he first made the move but a lengthy list of leg/knee/ankle/foot issues has, along with age, almost completely negated his once world class speed & acceleration. You'll notice most of his highlights were from the first 2-3 years and almost none of them are from the last couple. I think a decent amount of the criticism he received was unwarranted but the reality is that several long absences and disappointing & uneven performances saw him lose his minutes to some promising youngsters. He fell out of favor and it soured his relationship with Zidane. I hope he's finally able to stay healthy because he was so fun to watch and during those 2013-15 seasons was absolutely in the conversation with Neymar for best the player behind Ronaldo/Messi.
So his pace isn't completely gone? Like he has it, just not quite as fast as he used to be? Also, is his left foot still magic? We don't really have a threat from free kicks right now.
I was asked what he's like currently. You responded to a question about his history at and relationship with Real without mentioning the fact that he's won 13 trophies, scored over 100 goals (including the match winner in 2 CL finals, along with a pen conversion and assist in 2 others) etc etc. He had the occasional high while in Madrid too
More than anything else it's his burst and acceleration that he's seem to have lost. He was still one of the faster guys on the squad but I think the days of him blowing by guys and dominating with pace are behind him.
Just finished the amazon doc. I didn’t want to finish it because of the Super Jan farewell. What a good guy. I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Grain of salt, but Hercules said it is not as straight forward as 45. There is a clause where if someone else offers more Real has right of first refusal to match.
