yea ok, I didn't run.
Need a new beer bandana
Garmin is back up
I go topless 55 and above.
Not for me
Rained most of the afternoon and stayed overcast for a nice little tempo run.
So the 17, while tough, went great Saturday. Got home and was tired and sore, but nothing I haven't dealt with before. Woke up yesterday and the middle of my right big toe was killing me. Got better so I felt comfortable running three. No issues there and tbh was one of my better runs recently. Toe pain returned last night and woke up feeling like garbage this morning. Didn't run today, which is my first missed training one for either race this year (half marathon + almost halfway through my full marathon training right now), so I was pretty bummed. Gonna take the next few days off as well and hopefully I'm good by next week. Feeling better as the day goes on, but it's still not perfect.
I have been having some slight discomfort in my lower back since yesterday. Not terrible pain, but stiffness. I ran those five miles today and I can barely stand up straight now. Just excruciating pain, and I have no idea why.
let’s check the tape to see if there is something wrong with your form.
I’ve been dealing with big toe pain for 6+ months.
Oh God. I hope that's not the case for me!
I should have run this AM when it was 67 instead of 83 now. Oops!
Welp, cancel that - pulled into a conf call. After the first 15 min I’m still determining why I was involved.
95 with real feel of 104. 4.5 at right under 7:00/mile. My calves were starting to cramp real bad, do any of y'all use Nuun after runs?
Just finished an 8 mile tempo run. It was super hot but still finished in my goal min/mil of sub 7
In other sad news Tommy Rivs doesn’t look like he’s got many more miles left. Super sad stuff here
Yall are pulling 7 minute miles on runs longer than 1 mile? I have some catching up to do
Some of my Garmin features are back but not all
There's a few here that have either BQ'd or are super close. My goal is to get there in 5 years when I hit 35.
I was very close to Qualifying for Boston. Had a 3:13 in 2018, got hurt and then hurt again and then stopped running altogether for 5months. Started training hard again last November and got my old coach to put a plan together to get sub 3:05. Unfortunately the race I was wanting to use is cancelled.
Chickamauga Marathon was going to be it but it’s postponed until 2021. According to some of the Atlanta track people it’s the perfect course to try for a qualifying time provided the weather is good
Just finished my 100th mile this month. I know that’s not a lot for many of you, but somehow in my 10+ years of running and multiple half marathons and one full, I’ve never done 100 in a month.
I’m going to give the ole college try tomorrow morning.
Is that the complete Lakeshore trail?
Went out for a three mile walk today and ran the middle mile to see how my foot would feel. No issues! Hoping tomorrow goes well. Have missed running all week long and ready to get back to my training.
Had a terrible awful week of work and haven’t run. Instead of beating myself up about it, I’m turning it into a nice break. Mentally, it helps to frame it that way instead of guilting myself over a shitty week.
I might be wrong, but think the Lakeshore Trail is 5mi and is from the park on Columbiana to Target. This keeps going past Brookwood Mall and turning on Cahaba Rd in Mt Brook.
cool weather! was in the 60s. felt great doing 8.
Amazing weather to run again. Hoping I don’t wake up with random pain tomorrow like last Sunday! But feeling good rn.
This is me.
Somehow mustered the energy to get a decent peloton ride on Thursday but otherwise a really shitty week.
Did 5 today. Seriously need to run more often anyway it was about 75-78 when I went and seriously that is too fucking hot to run. I have fucking headache. Was gonna have a few but now because of the headache I don’t feel like drinking. Why is life so hard.
75-78? Poor guy.
I thought this was a safe space. Guys it was a hot 75.
I'm with you. Honestly fuck anything over 70.
I’d have to wait until late September to run in that case
It will be 79 at 9 am tomorrow
one of the reasons I bought a peloton.
I'm hoping for 60 @ 7 lol
79 and 80% humidity at 9 made it feel like 88
lmao even my wussy pnw 65 degrees in direct sun can suck my dick tbh
its disgusting here
I guess I should be happy because last time I tried running the first number was always 2 and it only lasted a couple of weeks. This time I’m several months and always hitting least three. Seeing you all plus 5 and sub 9 minute paces has me all . I’m not sure what I can really hope for with 87 degrees at 5. Oh well hopefully when fall comes I can break that sub 25 minute 5K and I can be all Pat Dye this is why we work you in the summertime. Anyways, here’s today’s offering with a picture from my trip to Burial in Friday
94% humidity this AM but only 75 degrees. Got an easy 5 in before 2 days of rain hits here.
Wasn’t expecting much from my run today after my long day yesterday. However, Atlanta cut out some humidity and it ended being much faster 6 then it needed to be. Fall is coming my south running friends
High today was 68. Humid (85%), but it was a nice change of pace. Looking forward to 4-5 days like this.
Weather.com says if I time it just right, I can be out the door at 6am for the overnight low of 89 degrees. 30% humidity I guess helps?
lmao eat shit planet earth
The good news is most of the south will be underwater by the time it’s impossible to run outside down here, I’ll also likely not give a fuck about running then either. I remember running cross country in high school in Florida, training over the summer, looking back I’m surprised no one ever dropped dead of heat stroke
