I am older than most of you guys but I enjoyed his page 2 column and read it regularly even though I’d never seen melrose place or 90210. It was very different than any of the Peter King style stuff out there. His mailbags were fun reads. “Yep these are my readers” I make fun of the dumb shit he says with Rusillo or Sal but his early columns were good
so much this also helped he was a CT native moonlighting as a Masshole....which also happens to be the vast majority makeup of the worldwide leader in sports.
Nothing happened per se, there were just two things that stood out: 1. he said he’s glad talking heads never sold out or went commercial immediately after saying he learned of their music because they had an auto play opener to the windows or Microsoft media player he used in college. Amanda called him on that. 2. He said if something like Altamonte happened today the equivalent of The Rolling Stones would never play another concert again. Travis Scott did much worse and currently has the number one album in the country.
The Page 2 days when they’d do the “here’s looking at you” where they did athlete lookalikes was top tier. Same when they did the Pick 3 fantasy game, was the only thing that would ever get me to watch shit like the Indy 500 or NHL
The QB School on YT did a breakdown of Mac's game last week and it was unbelievable. Looked like a HS QB dropped into an NFL game with all the panic plays he was making. I don't see how he was still starting this week after that. Was the kind of performance where you look at the QB and tell him he's done for the year to get himself figured out.
Ruiz wrong again. This time about Purdy. Has him 25 in his QB rankings. This guy has no more football insight than any other person on the internet.
Pod today: “I crushed in my real life bets” lol Bill blaming Lamar for the ravens loss is insane. Everyone saw the drops and knows these Steelers - Ravens games are always funky. The man just can’t help himself. So reactionary every week Also BS back to burying the bills trying to find a preseason W because they lost a weird London game
Bill apologizing for taking three minutes to talk about the mlb playoffs. I guess he forgot when he announced baseball as back when Red Sox got hot for 2 weeks in July
Talk your shit peter. Love when former players or entrenched nfl media shit on people like Ruiz. publish crappy rankings and argue about them on Twitter all day, then you must pay the consequences
It always cracks me up when these seemingly fresh out of undergrad guys like this Ruiz character and KOC get branded experts. Sure, our gerontocracy is a problem but so is calling someone with no lived experience a SME.
i used to think the jockocracy in media stuff was bad but now that every new talking head is the dorkiest looking kid from your HS who never touched the sport i'm starting to be ok with it
Bill better stop talking up Caleb so much or he's gonna get a lot of angry tweets from an incel from Alaska
we have about 5 "generational" players every draft class these days. the term has lost all meaning- hell they even used the term with kyle pitts /oldmanyellsatcloud
just wait till it's clear the Pats won't get the #1 pick and it'll go from Caleb being generational to "Many people are calling this a generational QB class"
I made plenty of jokes about giving the fastest receiver corps in world history to a noodle armed QB. And I'd do it again.
said he enjoyed watching Oregon - Washington... "good stuff" he also seems to be really weird about the "ghost" in his home
“Big” now just means “tall” and as it happens, the boston celtics have none other than 7’4 (he grew an inch) kristaps porzingis, a guy, who unlike the notoriously injury racked khris middleton, can be counted on for a full season. The celts are just not scared of the bucks, they just aren’t. Who’s guarding derrick white?!?!
My nickname for Kristaps when he played for the Mavericks was Sex Panther. 60% of the time, he played 60% of the time
Nephew Kyle has a lot of the bad habits I had…in my early 20s. I appreciate him constantly inviting people to the frolick room.
My favorite part about this argument is how it's now evolved from Tua sucks and that offense will suck with him, to Tua still sucks and that offense thrives in spite of him. I've never seen a player that's so harmless be so polarizing. Feel like most of it steems from people being so completely wrong about him and now being unwilling to admit they were wrong.
I love the QB school videos, I wish I had time to watch every one he does each week. I was watching the Trevor one today covering last nights game and saw the Derek Carr breakdown is 43 minutes long lol.
