Can't speak to the ND one but I went to the Oregon camp for 3 years. Granted this was like 2 decades ago at this point, but Bill's kid would get a nice dose of reality going against actual power 5 prospects in drills and against the "renegade" teams that the program puts together

I had a lot of car time today and tried to listen to him and Gladwell and I almost drove into a tree with Malcom’s draft pick thing or letting coaches decide they only have 2 timeouts per game.

I’m kind of in on Bills “let the 1 seed have 5 home games in round 1” type theory.

but this was worse than Gladwells Nigerian Olympic team thing that made no fucking sense.

 

don't know what was worse, Bill saying the Pelicans won the AD lottery when they were still in Charlotte, or including the Lakers in anything other than the bottom 5 of the Power Poll

 

I actually like gladwells thought of having weird home team quirks but not sure about the timeouts. And the decide the lottery order halfway through the season is insane.

What i couldn’t figure out was why he was talking about when he was saying a team picks for another team? I was halfway paying attention and could not figure out what tf he was trying to say.

Example: Last year the rockets (Not fact checking so whatever) were the worst team in the league, so before the season starts they would get to choose first which team they think is going to perform the worst and get their pick and since their pick is not related to their record they dont have the same level of incentive to tank.

Loved that pod but I also watched the heck out of that movie as a kid so I’m biased. All the stuff about Costner mailing it in never even registered but it totally makes sense now.
