We have planned protests next Wednesday
Hello to the thread, didn't know this existed. Currently on year 5 in Texas, I teach Pre-AP Chemistry to sophomores and AP Biology to juniors and seniors.
This isn’t a “thread” as much as it is a support group.
My AP test is the 13th, have about 100 kids taking it and I'm sweating bullets. I'm not even taking the test and I have test anxiety. Also have to work prom tonight, fuck me right.
You get the smart kids but also the honor of teaching the test. Fuck that shit, I'll stick with World History
A blessing and a curse for sure. I would have done history but I figured I'd be a little more marketable as science teacher and a coach. But my first love was definitely history.
I teach Ap Physics all day. Test next Tuesday then the following Monday for my students. I’m also an ap reader
Try having your kids answer a short answer question with a tik tok video
I just got hired as a PE teacher!
Enjoy coaching EVERYTHING
I've been doing Football and Track. Hoping to do JH basketball so I get 6 weeks before track.
This was my first year I could get invited to the read and I got it. I will be in Kansas City the week after you.
This will be my 5th year. I got moved up to a leadership position last year. Lots of walking and sitting.
The AP Bio teacher at my school will be there.
Saw this on fb
So it’s official...
I just signed my contract and I will keep posting itt for at least another year.
Some shithead in my 3rd period class hasn’t been on time to his 1st period class since March 28th.
Congrats, you survived. Trust me when I say your 2nd year will be much smoother
My brother is an assistant principal at a much worse school than mine....a kid today fucking walked into school with a pistol in his waistband. Unloaded and not even with a clip, but seriously, how fucking stupid can you be?!?
Early this year we had a kid from our rival school sneak on campus and post a picture on SC with him holding a gun and geo-tagged.
Smart enough to not load it
They did can the gal next to me, as well as an entire unit of 8th grade teachers. :-(
Non-renewals or they lost teacher slots?
Non-renewals as far as I know.
I’m guessing bad classroom management?
One was already pretty openly saying she wanted to leave, so I'd attribute it to that. The other three, I think that was the case.
to be fair some poster's wife thought it would be ok for their daughter to take an empty shotgun to school for show and tell
i want to say it was someone from arkansas
Well, that’s it. Had our last work day, stacked desks, cleaned, now I’ve left.
I don’t know what to do with my hands.
Still have 3 more weeks
Put a beer in each of them and enjoy your summer.
Why do I miss them already?
Year 16; shut it down
Last day was Thursday...was a great year with virtually zero troublemakers
Not out until 6/14, Flag Day.
My roomie is leaving. One and done. Horrible classroom management and would get lost on class trips. In the end, just a case of dgaf.
They asked the rest of the first years to keep their return/leaving a secret for another week so I’m not sure how many more.
Yea 6/12 for us
My kids aren’t out until 6/21.
The go back in September?
Yeah. The Thursday after Labor Day.
Must have been awkward when y'all got home.
I just meant the dude that I share a homeroom with. He teaches English.
We do. Probably about 50% of the classrooms have two teachers in them. I’m brand new so I don’t have any idea whether this is normal or not.
I’m assuming from your question that each teacher has their own room at your school? Is your classroom empty half the time?
Yes, we have our own classrooms. And it is only empty during my planning period.
Having to share my classroom sounds terrible
