Suck it up. I have one of those every Friday.
“We are going to do bottom up state pay raises this year where we raise everyone to a minimum amount of 21,000 dollars," added Hosemann. "We have over 1,000 state employees working right now making less than that.”
Dude. just move. And tell those 1000 people to move as well.
That $21k is for TA positions. I’m making in the mid $40k range
Posted this on another thread. Any professional input would be greatly appreciated.
Friends of ours were in same boat. They just sent him and if things didn’t pan out they would have held him back. Things were fine and it’s probably better he started when he did.
I’m of the opinion if they are socially ready then you should be fine
Not a professional opinion
My birthday is in late August. Sports are a lot more fun when you have a full year of development over the other kids, if you guys are into that
he should go the greyshirt route so she can get acclimated to the school but not start her eligibility clock before she’s ready
Does this kindergarten accept spring enrollees?
My son’s best friend was held back because he was smaller than everyone at the daycare (July birthday). 8 years later, he’s now a seventh grader who is older than all of the seventh graders - and still the smallest one.
Good wrestler, though - dominates his weight class.
Neighboring district board just unilaterally approved a three year contract when negotiations broke down. Never happened in the state of Kansas before
Also I get Wednesday off for the chiefs parade!
Currently on teaching Imperialism, what about y’all?
AP 1: waves and sound
AP 2: complex RC circuits
AP C: simple harmonic motion
Golden Age of Television. Just watched A Face in the Crowd. Gave them a discussion question hoping they get the hint and shit on Trump
Did you see the car chase?
The joke going around
Did you hear who was driving the car?
Wtf no, who?
Kareem Hunt , he was trying to get to the stage.
Our district got hacked by the ransom ware group ryuk
never seen it, sounds more like Limbaugh and Trump
Anyone have their CDL to drive the bus? Did everything to get my permit over the christmas break and I take my pre-trip/road test on Friday. A little nervous about how specific the pre-trip inspection can be.
I know a couple of teachers that make some great money driving the teams and watching games.
these were the pictures
some real gems on this board:
-itching in the anal
-45 to 64 get them
-were founded in 1700BCE
Holy fucking shit! My best friend’s kid’s 4th grade class had to do a Black history month biography essay. One kid in the class’s parents REFUSED to allow him to do it. The teacher is black, btw. Fucking masks off
i’d tell the kid they’re welcome to do a report on Jesus since he was black
We just had our BHM forum today. Two dramatic readings about black culture by members of the speech/debate teams. A performance by the African dance club. African drumming performances throughout. Then a dance battle at the end where anyone could join.
Kids today have to learn to stop putting things on social media
That’s not your school, is it?
I mean its Mississippi what do you expect
No, private school in Starkville.
I can only imagine what the next steps would be if that happened around here. Counselors, forums, etc. at minimum.
What do you hate about your job?
My current job is like 5% teaching and 95% office bullshit, and I hate the latter. Wondering if I should try to find something teaching-focused or if I'd just end up hating it for different reasons
We all say this about our jobs.
I hate professional development, especially since the district doesn’t supply me with enough opportunities to achieve the minimum hours required and I have to seek them out myself
Interesting. Do you teach more of the history of television/film or do you help prepare students to enter careers in that industry?
Did you win?
Teach both but more history
I’m having to do some pdu courses now and it’s such a sham when I could basically pay the same but actually see a pay increase rather than just checking boxes for my new license
I'd love to be a music teacher. Either for a school or like guitar/piano lessons
We used to be a part of a huge district and all we had to do for professional development was watch videos and take quizzes after and then had one day during the year for PD. Now, my district is smaller, and they just don’t provide the content. Even worse, some teachers have gone and done a seminar or conference and then the district REJECTS that counting toward their PD. They were fucking furious
I did not. There was no winner but if there was, ít wouldn’t have been me.
Giving an open note, open book, multiple choice 9 weeks exam.
- “This test is hard!”
- “I need help!”
- “you do too much. You knew we weren’t going to read all this!”
“You do too much” is my favorite compliment lately. I don’t know how that got into the teenage lexicon but I’ve heard it at least three times this year.
"Mr. Shawn over here doing the most!"
