I legit have spent a few hours of my life internally debating this exact thing.
I assume they just go back to their regular schedule. They don’t push back everyone only the people that fall on the holiday. So you don’t get your trash picked up Tuesday if it falls on a holiday you get it picked up Wednesday but they don’t push Wednesday back too (or do they) so Tuesday and Wednesday picked up Wednesday. That or they don’t pick up on Sunday except Sundays that fall within a holiday week. So after that Sunday they go back to normal.
Maybe their regular week isn’t at 100% capacity so weeks when there’s a holiday there’s a buffer.
Well that was a feeble attempt at best
What do you mean?
He was like oh they shot her let me walk by casually. No? Go back? Ok.
He didn’t care if she lived or died, probably was tired of beating her at home for not doing the dishes or something.
That was an embarrassing attempt, and it looked worse once I expanded the screen.
And that’s the guy who was looking at his phone with the Punisher Lock Screen? what a fucking joke
People react differently to trauma, so I'm not going to malign him for his lack of enthusiasm. But, the description of him "having to be restrained" was clearly made up by the other people there.
I’m mostly with you, but they did end up telling him and keeping him from going in. Of all the things the cops did wrong and lied about, this one seems the least problematic/inaccurate to me.
I will say that “was restrained,” would’ve been a way better description than “had to be restrained.”
he was restrained as much as Guiliani was assaulted
Tbf to our shitty governor, he's been a shitty governor to whites and minorities alike when it comes to responding to mass shootings.
I know everyone reacts differently and I don't pretend to be a hardo but I think it'd take a little more than asking me nicely to get me to stop from going to that room if I knew my wife had been shot and was still in the room with an active shooter. You'd have to take me down and restrain me with some cuffs and carry my fat ass out of there and I'd be calling you all pussies the entire time. Zero chance I'd go back to work with people that stood around while my wife was bleeding out. Imagine him having to explain his lack of action to his wife and kids after they see that video.
Serious trauma can cause all sorts of different reactions. No way will I judge that one moment based on 3 seconds of video. I think the bigger issue (as it has been this entire time) is the total lack of urgency of all of the other guys in that hallway. Their first reaction to one of their fellow officers saying his wife has been shot is to get him out of there and "restrain" him. No one advocating on his behalf. Just a "get him out of here" as that guy is now an issue to be dealt with.
Same deal with the cops who were handcuffing that one parent trying to get to their kids in the school. The cops treated the parents and concerned people as if they were just another issue to deal with and exert power over.
Yeah, everyone reacts differently. The problem is that he’s supposed to be trained to go into danger and protect people. He didn’t even make an effort for his wife.
now he needs a gofund me to pay his medical bills. cool country
Human reactions to trauma are weird. The bystander effect is real.
WHY DO WE NEED POLICE??
to be fair, this is more the fire brigade's area of expertise, but point taken. this particular pizza guy, hell, maybe most pizza guys would have run into Uvalde too.
So they can fill the private prisons, duh.
What I like Twitter:
What I hate about Twitter:
He got $.73 as the change from a 20 when he dropped off the pizza 20 minutes late.
I had no idea pizza guys were also medics
If your wife thought you might die and leave the kids parentless, what might she want?.
She'd want me and my 375 gang members with guns and armor standing 50 feet away to come save her and the kids in her class.
idk how I’d react and I don’t want to sound like a Hardo but I’d hope I’d do more than that. I love my wife and I can’t imagine standing around knowing she might be dying I honestly can’t imagine not being physically restrained in order to not go in. Maybe I wouldn’t but fuck
well about that
Holy shit, the pizza delivery guy found the six year old downstairs after looking upstairs, he couldn't find his way out in the thick smoke so went back upstairs and jumped out of a second story window with the kid.
I’m looking at the bright side that he doesn’t have to explain to his wife that he is bitch made.
Did she die? Sorry I must have missed that.
As a parent, how do you come close to saying thank you enough to that guy for saving your kids? I mean honestly idk what I'd even say or do foe him. I'd start with cocaine and strippers and go from there, I guess.
yeah two of the three teachers died the sole survivor was male.
Well shit. Ok imagine him having to talk to her mom and dad after they see that video. Or his kids, if they had any.
I’d prefer he swallow a bullet but we know he’s too big a coward to do the right thing
ding ding ding.
cops would’ve stood outside and waited for the fire to wear itself out.
This is fantastic
But he was fixing to get ready to not go in
