Its a real brain buster because right wingers are jacked about a socialist regime going down while liberals are jacked about an authoritarian regime going down.
How many sources do we really need to know that communism or socialism leads to authoritarians taking over and ultimately making life miserable for the people?
I allow you side question, how much do you pay in impôts and taxes every year? Just a percentage of your salary, not whatever you consume.
not enough for the government to install the filter to prevent Canadians talking about US politics :(
my bad, I was talking politics in general. It seems to be going all over the place now. i just dislike people from the USA paying half the taxes I pay telling me how selfish I am for maybe wanting a better service for the money we pay.
Since you do your dumbass shit do you feel guilty that a kid named Daniel Desrochers died because you thought biker gangs were just lovable rogues?
Quebec Is the most taxed province/state in North America but you are right, I am not trying to be standof ish either. I am fascinated by how the us is so vastly different, California if almost like here. Florida pays nothing. Makes no sense to me
top Canadian tax bracket, federal and provincial, is 53%. The top US federal tax bracket alone is 37%.
He was totally cool with open biker gang warfare until the clearly foreseeable consequence happened, an 11 year old kid died thanks to a car bomb. And of course we could point to the Shedden Massacre, great stuff letting a Nazi loser have an arsenal. Sadly this thread doesn’t revolve around any of that. With the way certain people lashed out maybe they were the victim of #hockeyculture but won’t actually speak out?
yeah, usa is way behind on that but it is not a perfect system. People think we are golden but we pay a shit load of money up front and the system doesn’t always provide. We have the most expensive healthcare in North America and you can wait up to 20 hours in the urgency waiting room. that might be a Quebec problem and not a philosophical problem with universals healthcare though. Universal healthcare to me is a Base, it’s the minimum.
it’s 54% when you make over 100k a year here and without the tax you pay for restaurants, or products which is another 15%
yeah Americans have sales taxes, too. Plus payroll tax (more than Canadian payroll tax) and unemployment tax
gotcha, I think we are actually arguing for nothing because we are on the same side, I want the best social safety net possible and I want it to be efficient, I do not want Gerald on the 13th floor making 200k because he is a friend of the senator, I want Monique who takes care of the kids in kindergarten to be happy and satisfied with her job so we can keep her, and she can take a vacation every year
But what the two experts do not understand about our tax rate here is that Quebec gets the federal and provincial one, it adds up to 15 % or so because the provincial one is based on the price after the federal one is in.
Dumbfuck Canadian pretends to not remember when his own inaction allowed an 11 year old kid to die. https://montrealgazette.com/news/qu...ims-i-never-thought-it-would-happen-to-my-son
it makes sense when you see the crap quality of life, poverty, and income disparity. its one of the most regressively taxed states by design.
most of my wife’s family lives in BC, and I know how taxes work because I’m not a dipshit who hides behind language and alcohol when I say stupid shit
